And, if you're pulled over, hit the switch that leaves it up so that it doesn't look to be speed controlled.

Default Spoiler Disable

I recently purchased a Jaguar F Type fixed rear spoiler # T2R19419LML for about $1100 delivered, for my 2015 F TYPE R. The spoiler comes with a new base plate and control box which replaces the old plate and motor.
The existing spoiler cannot be deactivated by pulling a fuse or the motor leads without effecting other systems. Fuse F13 feeds both the spoiler and the Jaguar Drive ( Dynamic/Weather) so you do not want to pull it. Disconnecting the leads to the spoiler motor gives you a warning sign in the display that cannot be erased. The motor has 2 limit switches which feed the ECM. If they are not in the circuit, top speed is limited to 135 and the Dynamic Stability control cannot be shut off or changed.
There are 2 ways to over come these obstacles.
If you are installing a NON Jaguar spoiler, open the top spoiler lid and remove the 4 #30 Torx bolts holding it to the baseplate. Remove the bottom black baseplate by using a # 27 TORX 5 LUG SECURITY bit on the 11 bolts. It is cheap and readily found .
The motor has 2 shafts. Cut the 2 couplings that are crimped on. Reinstall the base plate and the motor will work but it will not raise the arms that hold the spoiler. If you attach your new spoiler to the spoiler lid, you need to hold the lid down with 2 sided tape or the equivalent.
If you do not want to cut the couplings ( which could be replaced later if desired) you can try to buy the control box that substitutes for the motor, Jaguar part #GX5M-14774_AA.
Of course, the easiest way is to buy the Jaguar spoiler!!

I had the Piecha GT SPOILER installed on my 2017 R Coupe. It came with detailed instructions for the install. You cut the metal rod that connects from the motor to the OEM spoiler. This way there are no fault codes . At a future time, the metal rod can be Arc Welded to reactivate the OEM Spoiler.

I didn't like the look of the spoiler on my 15' R, so I pulled the plug and do not have a spoiler warning light. Since I don't race the car and generally won't see speed much north of 85 or 90, its not necessary.
Lawrence.

I did not want to cut the rod as I do not have a welder. Removing the motor shaft coupling does the same and a new coupling can be installed without welding. The motor actually has 2 shafts and either cutting the shafts or removing both couplings will work!

If you fit one of these rear blade spoilers will the OEM spoiler on the car still go up and down. This can be a factory option, so do they disable it from rising from the factory if fitted.

Unlike most, I actually like the spoiler. Wish I could control it to go up or down whenever I wanted.

Just to mix things up a little, I raised mine halfway (just better than horizontal) and flipped the switch I installed. It stays there and the car only complains when I hit 120MPH, which never happens. I kind of like how it looks half-up now. I will until I don't.
