Default Discounts for 2016 Orders

I am almost ready to order a 2016 F-Type S coupe with a manual transmission. I expect to order a car that I would call "very nicely equipped". I know that pricing is not available yet but my dealer will take an order based on a percentage discount off MSRP. For those of you who have placed orders, are you getting the same kind of proposal, and, if so, what % off MSRP were you able to negotiate?

I will also use the JCNA discount, although, I don't know how much that will be.

I am unaware of any Jaguar incentives available at this point in time. If there is an incentive to pay cash versus finance, I would consider it.

All experiences and advice appreciated.

no idea but I can guarantee you the salesman will say it's too new to get discount...it's never too new, I imagine you can get a couple of thousand off no problem.

The purchase I made was at MSRP on the R Coupe. I only put down 1K and now I see that some of you are getting a discount. The dealer said that he would give any discount that JCNA offers at the time the car is at the dealership. I too would like to hear from anyone that got a discount. Even if I loose my deposit, it would still pay for me to go to another dealership that offers a discount. Cecil.............

I got $5k off on a Coupe R order and I didn't even have to negotiate. That was their initial offer. This was for a MY15 placed back in August. Also stacked on the JCNA discount.

The CA dealerships were all sticking with MSRP and said I should be happy they didn't tack on a market adjustment.

This is for a 2016, so maybe MSRP is going to be the best I can do. I think the OP is asking if anyone has got a discount on the 2016. Cecil........

I will be trying to get a 2016 V6 S in Canada when I get back from Vietnam. My strategy too is xx% off the MSRP.

Thank you to everyone. The information you've provided lets me know what to expect and I appreciate it.

Update - I sent the same request re discounts and incentives to three local dealers this morning. One responded (almost right away) that he would not provide any discount information until he had the 2016 pricing and order guide.

A second has arranged to meet with me Wednesday and will address all of my questions. I have been working with this second person and am very comfortable doing business with her.

The third has not yet responded.

These cars aren't exactly flying off the lot albeit I expect the F Type is the best selling car in Jaguar's US line up.

I'd expect a discount on a MY16 car over and above any JCNA discount etc - that's free money and is simply gravy.

As for those asinine "market adjustments", to my mind that is a decrease, even on a 16.

I won't. I intend to get the best total package I can buy.

There seems to be some sentiment in this thread that MY2016 will somehow be different than 2015. I can't imagine why.

There are owners throughout this forum that negotiated and received discounts in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2015, at the absolute peak of the buzz over the just released F-Type Coupe.

Don't let dealers posturing and gamesmanship intimidate you. Start your negotiating at 10% off sticker, and be prepared to meet somewhere in the middle.

It will depend entirely on finding the right dealer. I found 3 dealers in the DC area willing to negotiate off the 2016 MSRP even though the prices aren't published yet. You should be able to get 5% on my16, 10% on my15, and 15% on my14 (yes, new my14s are still on the lots.)

If you don't mind me asking, which 3 dealers did you work with? I purchased my Ranger Rover in Chantilly but so far my best sales experience was in Annapolis. We're hoping to pull the trigger on an F-Type by June.

I agree and purchased my F-Type from the Jaguar Land Rover of Annapolis. They were great, I received a huge discount on a MY '14 car, and my service experience was great when I took it in for an early oil change.

Fortunately, my car has been perfect since delivery in June, and I've had no need to see how good they are when problems arise. Hopefully, I won't have to.

I've have a preliminary discount of $3500 for my 2016 order, with the understanding that I can further negotiate once pricing is officially announced.

Any JCNA discounts will be applied after final negotiations have concluded.
