Different conditions/different traction (the awd should have a huge advantage on take off, but the conditions might be different), the awd is 80 kg (175 pound) heavier etc.
The claimed 0-60/62 times for the rwd R vs awd R is in favour of the awd (0.2 sec), but the 50-75 times is in favour of the rwd (0.2 sec) - probably because of the added weight of the awd.

There's been a few dynos run on the V8S that suggest the 488hp variant really performs more closely to 510hp. Compared to the 542hp of the R, that's not a whole hell of a lot. Obviously dyno readings car vary based on conditions, but so can 0-60 times just the same. For what it's worth, I pulled a 3.3 second 0-60 in my AWD R on the strip.

What they said; mostly variations due to the usual conditions......however, there is no 55hp difference between the V8S and V8R and, as mentioned, there is a +170/200 lbs for the AWD variants as well.
I believe the real HP difference is likely 35 - 40hp and the weight penalty is worth 20-25hp so it's not surprising that the times are very close.
That said, if you tested 50 cars back to back with all the same conditions, I think you'd find the AWD R to be ahead in a 0-60 run the vast majority of the time.

agree that awd should be the quickest but the 15s had launch control while correct me if I am wrong the awd ones do not. That would make a difference in my opinion as the computer would def calculate road surface temp etc better then its human counter part. But that is obviously subjective

The AWD hooks up so much better, it's almost automatic. BUT... I think that with weight and drivetrain loss of the AWD, the RWD *could* win. It takes some serious skill though..
Anyone that can get a RWD to beat a AWD is a pretty darn good driver. IMHO, that's the explanation; A skilled launch artist.
I'd bet a RWD win rarely happens with us mortals.

On all three Jags I have had the Owner's Manual is generic and not at all sub-model specific. So it lists pretty much everything the car could possibly have, even if it doesn't have lots of those things.

We don't currently have that level of support; and we might night even have that capability. The stock ECU is pretty well locked down. We've only got a few companies working on F-type performance products compared to everyone and their mother who works on the GT-R. Completely different enthusiast base.
