Fortunately there’s a lot of screws holding them together so I don’t thing the seal will suffer. What I did do was grease the screws before I put them back hoping this prevents and future issues with the screws
Luckily I don't have to worry about rust where I am, despite no after-market treatment there is zero rust on any part of my car including underneath.
I bought the Mina lower intake kit a couple of weeks ago and it should arrive soon so then I can check those air box screws but I am willing to bet a year's pay that they have no rust.

Thats the weird thing, we usually don’t have rust issues either. Maybe Jag had a batch of uncoated screws or something.

Also good news...If you are replacing the intake, there is no need for you to open the box for the filters...You remove the whole thing. Unplug MAF and a bolt or two and a band clamp...and pull that puppy out!

Hi NoShame, were the filters you purchased from FCP euro Mann filters? I have currently been using the BMC filters and haven’t had a problem. However I do live in a dusty climate and am thinking about switching back to paper and wondered if the ones you purchased at FCP were Mann filters and how they ended up working for you?

I can't speak for NoShame, but I did recently buy the Mann air filters from FCP Euro and they look identical to the OEM filters. I would expect them to perform similarly.

Forgot to add a few posts earlier that the new filters I bought (from Rock Auto) were Mahle and they looked identical to the OEM filters. Another top notch OEM equivalent filter is Wix. All three of these (Mann, Mahle and Wix) are at least as good as OEM and usually a lot cheaper, I prefer Wix but I got the Mahle that time because they were on sale at half the price of the Wix.
