Default DIY exhaust mods - drilling, cutting, and beers oh my!

Like some of you I wish the exhaust on my V8S had a little more rawness and volume at lower RPMs, but I'm not ready to drop the cash on a Capristo or Quicksilver just yet. The Porsche 911 enthusiast community came up with an ingenious procedure whereby holes are drilled in the stock exhaust up through the tailpipes to bypass some of the internal elements and give the exhaust a little more throatiness and volume. It worked great and I successfully implemented the procedure on my own 996tt. I understand that the BMW M community does a similar same thing. See:

Modified stock exhaust possible on 997 Turbo like 996 Turbo? - 6SpeedOnline - Porsche Forum and Luxury Car Resource

On my local craigslist there is a used V8 F-type exhaust for $125.

So...... I'm thinking of experimenting with this exhaust and drilling a hole or two to see what happens. The airflow in Jag 4.2 XKR exhaust gas flow looks something like this:

I couldn't find any shots of the F-type V8 internals unfortunately.

Has anyone modded their stock system? What did you try?
Do any of the experts (Stuart@VelocityAP?) have any advice?

Will report back if and when I try this experiment.

B.
