I have SiriusXM on my car. Normally you get a 3-month trial but my subscription wasn't activated. Was too lazy to call them to ask about it. Ironically, just today I activated it for 6 months at $30 when they sent me a letter saying my trial subscription is over. Not sure if it's an option, but you should be able to select audio/video then sources and one of the sources should be sat. Or press "mode" until it cycles through.

The HD/Sirius radio was a $450 option on the base car in 2014, so you may not have it. I bought mine from dealer stock, and the only options it had were that, climate pack, aluminum interior trim, and a light grey convertible top.

If you purchased the HD / Sirius ready radio upgrade you have a free 3 month trial. However your radio ID and VIN may not have been pre registered from the factory. Mine was not so I had to call Sirius and get it set up... couldn't do it online. It was virtually painless and I am rockin now.

The radio mode button should take you to the satellite screen... Your radio ID number and preview channel 184 will show. If it doesn't then I would assume you do not have a satellite ready radio.

I believe you are correct but I could swear I saw the 184 channel when she was going over the functions but when I cycle through the audio/video my screen looks just like the one in the owners manual...minus the sat button.

I'm guessing I no gots...

If you really want satellite radio, it can be added later. The parts are listed in the accessories catalog and from the install instructions I've seen, its a fairly easy install. Can't speak to the cost though.

Thanks for that...it's not necessary but I just wondered if it was offered as a freebie for a short period to get you hooked like other manufacturers do.

When the free period ends don't just renew at the full price. They'll go down to $24 for 6 months. Just gotta ask.

Buick... The mode button on your steering wheel would take you there, but the best way to confirm one way or the other would be to check your window sticker to see if you have the $450 Sirius / HD radio option listed.

I believe Sirius & HD Radio are standard on the R, not sure about other models. It wasn't anything I choose as an option but it is listed on my Vista Order sheet. I don't have the car yet.

My 2013 XJL had it as standard. 184 was listed as "preview" channel on the XJL but was the only channel I received which is hardly a preview. I went online and ordered it a week after the purchase as I already have it on my Sequoia and like the service. After that, I could access all the other channels.

Interestingly enough, about three weeks after that, I get a call from Sirius asking me if I want to add the service to the newly purchased XJL. "Umm, I already added it", I said.

Salesperson says they have no record of that. I told her, "well yes then, I'd like to."

She said I will continue to get the free preview service for 3 months. After that, billing will begin. Also, I get a reduced rate as this is for a second vehicle after the Sequoia.

Hope that helps.

I got the 3 month deal but had to call in versus having it already working with my BMW's, Porsches, Benzes, and Audi's in the past. Whats ironic is I actually went to the satellite option yesterday to find a channel and my trial had ended. Its probably only the second or third time I've gone to listen to it so I doubt if I renew unless I get the 25 dollars for 6 months program.

Try this link. It's what they sent me after my trial ended: siriusxm.com/yousave14
You need your radio and account #, or maybe just try your luck with "chat now"

I quite like some of the content on SiriusXM, but the audio quality by and large is appalling.

I've also found SiriusXM to have equally appalling customer service in the past.

I've let the service lapse on all the cars I have with satellite radio.

I'm actually surprised - for all the cars I've purchased in recent memory including the F-type and XJ, my salesperson has taken care of activation/configuration of SiriusXM, mBrace, etc for me so I just hop in the car and drive away. I guess not all dealerships are the same...

Like I had previously mentioned,my salesperson was probably the worst luxury new-car buying experience I've ever had,she was more concerned that I complete the survey and to give her a perfect one.

She never showed me how to properly close the hood...good thing another salesperson at another dealer showed me.

Anyhow's, I ordered the car and did not add the sat radio option because I never saw it so that answers that...thanks guys.

Yeah, my salesperson said I needed to give him perfect scores on everything, or he'd have to be 're-educated.' At that point, a survey is meaningless so I skipped it. This is after my original salesperson left the dealership a day or two before my car was delivered.
