Default Does anyone sell a gloss black leaper for trunk?

My understanding is that you can't remove the leaper because there are 2 pins beneath it? Does anyone sell a gloss black version to match the black pack? I know you can plasti dip it, but I'd rather just buy a new one.

No pins go through the body. There's 2 dimples stamped into the hatch for indexing the angle of the leaper that has 2 buttons on the reverse side.

Thanks. So they simply connect with glue like the other badges and can be removed with dental floss?

Guess I can buy one on eBay and try painting it.

Hmm strange. This vendor has the white and black ones through my eBay App from Australia but on the U.S. Website they seem to only have chrome.

You could email them and ask.

Yes, dental floss or fishing line.

Thanks. Any good sites that carry quality license plates frames? Just want something with two screw holders and gloss black. Checked eBay and Amazon, but thought someone may know a good source. Don't want any designs or labels on it.

Go to the MINI/BMW dealer. They have some nice slim line frames in either Chrome or flat black. No markings.

You might want to reconsider doing it with Plasti-Coat. They have a clear gloss you can spray on the item and it will give it that gloss look and you won't have to fight taking off the piece and causing possible damage to your paint. Cecil...........

I did my leaper and the JAGUAR logo in plasti-dip. I used 5 coats of black plus 2 coats of glossifier, and the leaper came out great. It ended up semi-gloss. I need to check to see if I have any photos with it, but folks who have seen it think it looks pretty good. The letters I will probably need to do again at some point as I had some issues with the inside of the R. (If you look closely it isn't as clean of a line as I would have liked.)

You could go the weight saving route...remove all your badges and replace them with equivalent vinyl stickers/decals ala Porsche GT3 I actually might try that, not for the weight savings, but because I feel a flush look might be interesting. Truthfully, most badges are pretty cheap looking IMO (not just Jaguar but on Porsche, BMW, etc.).

I had several badges painted for my Porsches. Eric at bumperplug will professionally paint any badges you sent him. Or you can whip out the old spray can and do it yourself.

Did you tape off and paint them (leaper and letters) on the car?

Scary but after 20 videos I tried it myself and it turned out great and can't wait to do more
