Thanks. I’m going back to COTA in a few months. I’ve gotta figure out a better tire strategy though. Not sure I can do another 2 days on the same set of Zeros I have now. But there’s plenty of “street” life left in them. I think I need to get a set of 19s with michelins for track use, because if I don’t, prematurely swapping 20” tires might get a bit stupid expensive.

Nice man! It’ll be my first time at Thunderhill in a couple of weeks (March 10th and 11th). Are you still using the stock pads?

Yep, the upgraded stock pads and rotors. They did pretty well as I didn't notice any fade even after 7 fun cat and mouse laps with a moded E46 M3. Are you doing Thunderhill East or West? ...or the Thunder-schleife? 😮

Unfortunately not taking the F-Type this time, actually just going with my brothers track prepped E46 M3 for support. Which one do you like better; East or West?

V6S RWD
I take my FType Coupe V6S to the track about 3 times per year. It’s fun to drive and faster than stock 911 Porsches... Surely in the wet it handles fabulously!
Swapped the P Zero’s to Michelin and the front brake pads to EBC Yellow stuff. Rear and front brakes are the high performance versions.
Before the trackdays I remove all excessive weight from the trunk, like the tire repair fluid and pump and the little tray underneath the trunk cover. Next time I will also remove the start stop battery and engine cover.
Today i’ve orderd the VelocityAP ECU update so next track day should be extra fun.
Tires and brakes are to be replaced after about 3 track days.

Let us know your feedback of the VelocityAP tune on track as I have been curious about this for the past few months now. I don’t think anyone has tracked on a pulley/tuned V6 yet and I’m itching to do it this summer.

The Yellow stuff brake pads are fine, had zero fade but it was a cold day with rain half of the day. They get better when hot, so for street use they require getting used to. Did you compare the PS4S to the new P Zero Corsa line?
i did not order the pulley yet, will start with the ECU remap first. I should be able to compare on the track with or without the tune because I can reprogram in the pit lane...

I stayed with OEM pads - certainly the week link on the F-Type, but as others have said - the AWD is truly an amazing car. I think the ideal tire set-up is Michelin Cup 2s, 265 on fronts and 305s rear. If the car was 300- 400#s lighter it would be world-class track car. But, I find her very capable with the better tires.
I've been working on my left foot braking and keeping the OEM suspension balanced all the way thru to the apex. The car has all the power, she just needs to be managed a bit to the apex and on the way out.
