the washers are an automatic feature and cannot be disabled. Nor is there anyway to be sure they are working when inside the vehicle as the spray to the windshield disrupts any view of the hood or headlights. You'd have to have someone outside the car check. Also I was under the impression that they only go on under certain conditions but I need to check the manual.

Might throw an error though if you pull it.

They come on the 1st time and then every 6 screen washes when the dipped beam headlamps are on.
Not sure why you'd want to, but you can disable by clamping the hose if you want them disabled. (Be aware if you are in the UK and probably EU countries it will fail annual safety checks if the headlamp washers do not function.)

Quote from Riley in the Movie National Treasure
Riley: No, we didn't. We didn't miss it because... you don't know this? I know something about history that you don't know.
Ben: I'd be very excited to learn about it, Riley.
Riley: Hold on one second, let me just take in this moment. [takes a deep breath] This is cool. Is this how you feel all the time? Well, except now, of course--
Abigail: Riley!
Riley: All right! What I know is that daylight savings wasn't established until World War I. If it's 3 p.m. now that means that in 1776 it would be 2 p.m.
Ben: Riley, you're a genius.
Riley: Do you actually know who the first person to come up with the idea of daylight savings time was?
Abigail, Ben: Benjamin Franklin
Just joking "Q"

Theoretically, I know how they’re supposed to be deployed, but I’ve never actually seen it. This relates to my disbelief in electricity...I’ve never seen an electron.
