Mid-Engine C8 Corvette may be coming out with a MT for their Z-06 model in 2 - 3 yrs, just when my F-Type warranty runs out....

It is interesting that one of the few new V8's with a manual is coming from...Cadillac. A supercharged 6.2 V8 with a manual tranny and 650+ HP complete with a warranty IS intriguing...if only it didn't require a four-door, which is apparently all that the CT5 will be offered as.

It doesn't really matter how good it is to the people who just want to be able to say "I've got GT3 with a manual transmission." Country Club bragging rights.

I haven't driven a modern Porsche with MT, but older ones I've driven struck me as quite good at the time. No CDVs or DMFs there and I could feel what was happening.

i know everyone is unhappy and nothing is nice, and that the new Toyota Supra is "just" a camouflaged BMW and all that, and the first model had no MT... but I sorta gotta guess that the MT will come if the sales are there?

Personally, I think Jeep is an example of how not to do MT, but it is an offload truck, so different things matter. Toyota Corollas also have nice manual transmission.

Must-drive would be Honda S2000 and Mazda Miata. Personally, I like Miata more, as there is more action... but you are not going anywhere fast even in third gear, so it might take time to get used to.
Agreed, the Miata experience is one of the best. Triple the power and it would be a winner.

Not necessarily. The target market for the Supra are the younger generations that don't want a stick shift. The MTs will only gain traction in the more expensive cars that generally the older generations can afford.
