Does this seem like the F-Type is being devalued? (diesel 4)

I don't know how I feel about four banger F-Type, it seems to water the model down a bit. depending on the model you have it's like having the most expensive house in mediocre neighborhood.
2017 Jaguar F-Type 2.0-litre diesel spotted testing | Autocar
Although you can get crazy HP out of a 4 cylinder turbo if the bottom end is strong enough.

Tuners already have that 4cyl up to 525HP; a 355 to 425hp tune is $1100 on pump gas. Piggyback so it can be popped off when you go to the dealer.
A 2-liter pushing that kind of power is amazing even to a V8 lover like myself.
Stock to 60mph is 4.1 secs I could imagine the tuned ones are mid-3sec range. Gotta give some cred there; with its race start tech it would match even an F-type R for a short while anyway.
The other pluses are 4-seats (don't care), a very cool interior and great tech.
NSFW - this guy's commentary at 3:10 or so had me laughing .... apparently the car is so amazing you never have to worry about crashing at any speed!
BTW - I much prefer the F-Type; comments above are just about how a 4cyl isn't the end of the world.

A 4-cylinder F-Type is inevitable. Either as a regular gasoline turbo engine or part of a hybrid system.
However a diesel 4-cylinder F-Type makes no sense to me whatsoever.
It's quite likely that they mis-registered the car, either by accident (happens a lot), or on purpose to gauge peoples reactions to the "news".

If there was a market for a 4-cylinder diesel sports car then you'd already be able to buy a diesel Merc SLK, or a diesel Audi TT, or a diesel Coxster/Cayman from Porsche, or a BMW Z4D, but you can't, because it's a stupid idea...
(when you read that in your head, imagine it spoken by Jeremy Clarkson)

Is everyone missing the DIESEL aspect here?
Do Americans know what DIESEL is? Maybe not since you don't have diesel cars in North America, only trucks.
I don't mean this DIESEL;
Or this DIESEL
I mean small engines which run on DIESEL fuel.
Europe is awash with DIESEL powered sedans & wagons, SUV's, but not sports cars.
Because there is nothing sporty about a 2.0L 4-cylinder DIESEL engine.
DIESEL.
Forget everything you know about turbocharged gasoline 4-bangers, DIESEL is a whole different story.
DIESEL.
