Go buy a $20 automotive stethoscope at a car parts store and identify where the sound is coming from.

Mine sounds just like that, even after I had the supercharger belt tensioner changed and then the SC torsion isolator / coupler changed, both under warranty. Mine has always sounded like that, before any changes and then after each change. I suspect the dealership did not change either thing, despite worksheets saying they did so.
They are the only JLR dealer within 800 km of me (otherwise I would go elsewhere), I have never bought a car from them, and their service has always been a bit "hoity toity" if you know what I mean.
I'm now resigned to living with a rattly engine, although the rattle does die down a bit once it is warm.

I think there is normal and then there is "normal".
My XFR with very much the same engine, just V8 instead of V6, made nowhere near the racket my F-Type engine makes. Just a mild bit of injector noise, more of a tick than a rattle, which is to be expected on a DI motor, and only detectable with the bonnet (hood) up.

I've done that and used tubing, but a mechanics stethoscope is cheap so sported for one many years ago. You can use the probe to place against parts or you can unscrew it and then use the end to help determine general location.

A great invention. Comes in handy to detect failing components before they leave you stranded.

Thanks to Lance & Steve just went out and bought a mechanic's stethoscope and had a good listen to the engine.
Turns out all I could here was the DI pulsing and the SC whirring, and overall it was pretty quiet, almost no rattle at all. So maybe the dealer did replace one or two parts after all. But this was on a warm/hot engine, I need to perform another test tomorrow morning on a dead cold engine, because it definitely rattles like crazy when cold.
