Does a V12 Sound Twice as Good as a V6?

The recording and playback has a lot to do with this. That particular V6 has a different overrun sound than mine. Whereas that one has a raspy sounding backfire, mine elicits distinct and separate backfires (blam, blam, blam). Maybe that one has the 200 cell cats on it.

I have 200 cell cats on my SVR and the backfires are distinct (blam, bllam, blam) with exhaust flaps open or closed. I do agree however that the V6 recording blams were not distinct. I wonder if the mic was being over driven by them.

Clearly he has NOT had the dealer screw it up with the replacement O2 sensors...mine USED to have the overrun. Now I only get a hint of it between 3500 and 4K on decel.

My car (V8S) has crazy amounts of overrun all the way through the rev range when in dynamic. Dynamic & sport is really obnoxious in terms of overrun and is actually a little embarrassing.

If you're referring to the two pops right at 1:47, almost sounds like the mic overloaded. The rest sounds pretty normal.

before the VAP tune, hitting redline was quite embarrassing. With the tune, I don’t hit redline as often (now at 7000rpm instead of 6800) and when it does, it just unceremoniously runs out of steam.
