Default Door handle stiff to open

Hello,
I have tried looking for my issue thinking it would be relatively common place but it seems most of the door handle issues are related to the handle retracting or not when locking/unlocking the car.

The Issue
When i unlock the car the handles pop out no problem, but i have to pull the handle on the passengers side very hard and far out from the door before it finally opens. I had no real issue with the drivers side until yesterday, when i tried to open the door and applying quite alot of force to the handle (pulling) the door would still not open...

I then had to go round to the passenger sides door, climb in and then open the driver side from inside.

It seems slowly this is getting worse.

Disclaimer
Yesterday was a very very hot day.

thanks for your help.

Cant help, but I have the same issue. 2016 car, passenger side sometime refuses to open. Handle pops out but pulling it, unless really hard doesn't open the door. Keep thinking about pulling the door apart to see if it needs lubricating or adjusting.

I did find this post from along time ago where they mention the rubber on the seals pushing the door away forcing it to need more pressure to unlock. This would kinda make sense seeing as it got much worse on a hotter day.

some of the people in the post solved the issue by moving the latch slightly, i will try to tinker today and see if any of this is true.

I noticed that the passenger door handle on my '16 had also gotten pretty hard to open so I decided to spray white lithium grease in all of the door handle crevasses and then opened/closed the door at least a dozen times to spread it around. It seems to have done the trick -- haven't had an issue with that handle in months.

Having to pull it very far out usually means the cable and cable sheath have come loose from an attachment point. Will mean pulling off the door card . The cable usually has anchoring points at each end which push clips into a secure notch to anchor the cable sheath into a set position. I think one of these locations must have come away from this locking point creating slack in the path of the cable
