Default Door trim

The chrome strip on the top of my door was delivered with scratches. Not sure
if it's aluminum or plastic with a coating. Can I use a metal polish to buff out?
Much thanks

I'd deliver it back to dealer for a solution

Good luck. I've been waiting for back ordered door trim for weeks.

If it's anything like the chrome trim on XFs and XJs it is anodized aluminium and no the scratches will not polish out. I had some relatively minor scratches on the chrome window/door trim of my old XFS and nothing I tried made any difference.
