Door unlocks right after locking
Hello, I apologize if this is a dumb question. I recently purchased a 2014 F-Type and am having a blast with it, but I do have this persistent issue with it. When I park and shut off the car and exit and close the drivers door and then push the door handle in to lock it, the car will honk twice and then extrude the door handle again! This can go on up to 3 or 4 times before it accepts me locking it and the door handle stays retracted and the car doesn't honk. Needless to say it's quite embarrassing and makes me look like I am arguing with my car on whether the doors should be locked or not. Is there something I am not doing properly or a setting I am missing to stop this behavior? Any info would be great!
Thanks,
Sean

Interesting, so you think it's not recognizing that the fob is outside the car because of a weak fob battery? That seems to make sense, I'll try replacing the battery in the fob and report back.

That's my first thought. With keyless operation, the fob is on standby at all times. Even the spare you've got in some drawer somewhere is slowly draining the battery. My spare sits with the battery removed.

I had a somewhat similar problem about a year ago. It turned out to be a sensor but of course you have to buy the entire assembly!. It was a retail price of $900 but got a Jag courtesy to bring it down to $440. I think use of courtesy is up to service manager to request it. Price included labor.
