Doug Demuro Review -- 2021 Jaguar F-Type R Is a 575-Horsepower Monster
#21
21 F-Type R's would be few and far between anywhere in the US.
Jaguar was selling something like 4000+ F-Type cars per year in the US but that dropped to a little over 2000 per year by 2019.
I assume that the sales drop is one thing that prompted Jaguar to modernize the styling. How that will affect sales is unclear because of the virus, but with 21's only having been on sale for a relatively short time, there probably aren't more than 300 21 F-Types in the entire US and maybe half of those are R's..
My local dealer sold their 21's but they do have a Fuji white 20 R coupe at a good discount.

Scotty Kilmer is one of the most click baity headlners and sadly still has his 35 years of automotive knowledge stuck in the "don't buy a JLR product designed by Lucas and built by Tata" prejudice. I refuse to watch on principle now.

Actually that's good advice. However, it's also irrelevant since JLR products aren't designed by Lucas nor built by Tata. He's a silly ignorant man.

I purchased my 21 R two months ago and at the time it was the only one in Northern California and Reno. I was and remain a bit puzzled as to why there's not more out there. However, given the COVID and pre-COVID sales drop, its most likely a wait and see. In retrospect, I'm glad that I snatched this one up before someone else. I couldn't be more pleased with the performance and "modernized" styling.

Clickbait headlines and title cards are ubiquitous because they work on people and it's pretty much required if you want the almighty YouTube algorithm to take note of your videos. The problem is not (always) with the creator, but rather with the civilization at large that encourages and rewards this behavior by clicking on these videos. By refusing to watch on principle, you are doing God's work!

I checked inventory of 2021 models online at the Jaguar USA website for what was available all over Southern California. Most dealers only had one or two. A lot of convertibles and 4 cylinder models which means that is what the demand is here, or maybe that's all that they could get from the factory at this time. No dealer had anything close to the color combo and options that I want so I have pretty much resigned myself to placing an order and waiting 4 months.

A great review of the 2021 F-type R.
I learned something I had no clue was a function of my 2019 F-type R too -- check out the video at 07:50 mark. When in the sport / paddle drive mode and you push the "P" park button, the gear shift automatically shifts back to center and then puts the car in park. Coooooool....
