Default Down load is taking days

Wednesday I took my car to my local Jaguar dealer with gps issues. They informed me it needed a download takes a couple hours. Next day I learned that failed and they tried again today. They are closed now and not open again till Monday. Driving around in a new Evoque instead. Why would a download take so bloody long?

I've moved this question from your Intro thread to F-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

The dealers do seem to have problems with downloads. I was told that H251 update would take 2 hours. 5 hours later they gave me a loaner because the download had crashed. Collected the next day.
In the meantime, try Android Auto if it's installed. You'll get a decent map app and GPS via your phone. It doesn't fix your problem, but is a good workaround. Cheers.

You'd think that premium car dealers would have fibre broadband so downloading shouldn't be an issue, unless it's an issue with Jaguar's servers.

I think it's the download to the car itself, not the download from JLR servers. When I did a map update it was via USB and still took hours.

Our sat/nav maps are so old, all the overpasses are covered bridges. Furthermore, every street I am directed onto is paved with cobblestones...

What was the problem? Mine started acting up after I had to leave it at the dealer for it's annual service. Doesn't seem to know where I am (it's off about 20 miles). Tech disconnected the battery, and now it can't even update the time automatically.

Default Map updates

Map updates on previous cars came via dvd purchase or download at the dealer. I don’t think changing my antenna will solve my issue but I support the dealers process in trouble shooting.
With our current situation I took my car home in case all dealers are ordered to close. It is snowing here today think I will test my awd.

Default Gps

My car when I took delivery it had a “sign in” message not showing my current location and asked for a wifi connection so I drove it home. This is the first car I have had that needed me to sign in in the first place. Wifi connection how or what button do I press to connect it?

My map is blank if I zoom out it shows someplace in northern Germany. If I can connect it to the internet via wifi it might fix itself?

Check your owner's manual and you'll find a description of SIM card installation and connectivity to the cellular provider of the vehicle--who does it, trial period, etc. There are other threads on this forum on the care and feeding of the cellular option and navigation system features. You can use the search function to find them.

Default Nav scmav

I loaded the in touch app and am trying one of the nav apps from Sygic. Pour graphics and it falls behind the car although that could just be me.

Stopped to social distant detail today.

Turnout on hwy 243 midway on my commute from Idyllwild to Beaumont, Ca.
