Default Dragy Acceleration Data for '20 P300 Convertible

Hello All, there is some ambiguity about the performance of the base P300 F-Type, and I was able to get some data with my Dragy.

The only magazine performance metrics for the P300 are from a Car and Driver feature that quotes 0-60 in 6.4 and a 14.9@97 1/4mi time. These numbers make absolutely no sense given the power rating and weight, and that the 2020 XE P300 went 14.2@99 at almost 4000lbs. According to the manual, a P300 F-Type coupe weighs 3,360 and a 'vert is 3,405. This is likely with no options, and the C&D tester was logged at 3,647lbs, but that still doesn't account for worse performance than the heavier XE.

You can read the review here: https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...r-convertible/

Edit: Motor Trend also tested a P300 coupe at 3,607lbs that ran a 5.4 0-60 and 14.1@99.7 1/4mi. My times are still ahead of these figures. Weird!

The C&D specs are shown below. The 60-130 time is listed at 25.1 seconds.

My numbers are a bit different. They are not corrected, and the density altitude ranges from 1,3xx to 1,5xx feet above seal level. I have a '20 P300 'vert with the 19s, Meridian stereo, heated wheel and seats, and a couple other small options that may or may not add weight. Either way, the car is heavier than the base factory weight listed in the manual, and all runs were performed with 93 octane and about 40% left in the tank. No weight was removed from the car, and there are only 680 miles on the odometer, so it's very fresh. C&D's example was tested at 3600 or 3800 miles, or something like that.

0-60 Runs: Jaguar quotes 5.4? so this was a bit slower than expected. I launched with traction and DSC off in Dynamic Launch mode with the engine torque braked at 2000 rpm, but there was no real spin, just a chirp on the 1-2 shift. If the car was able to get out of the hole a bit better, this would definitely favorably impact the 1/4mi ET. I understand it's not a prepped surface, but I'll have to do some more work here. If you look at the 60 foot times, they're very slow at almost 2.3 seconds. Is this tq management in the factory programming? Maybe the car would benefit from a trans tune because it was very soft.

1/4mi Runs: After it left the line, the P300 performed much better through the 1/4mi. 102ish trap speeds out of a brand new car are not bad. Maybe as the weather gets cooler, and the engine loosens up with more miles on the clock, we'll see 103-104. Even a .1 reduction in the 60 foot time would likely result in a 13.6-13.7 ET.

60-130 Run: This number really surprised me. This was logged during the 1/4mi run ... I just kept my foot in it. I'm not sure if the car would perform better if it was done as a dedicated 60-130 run given the potential intercooler heat soak with extended wide open throttle, but it's significantly quicker than the 25.1 obtained in the Car and Driver test.

As you can see, even without correction or a prepped surface, my P300 was a lot quicker than the magazine review, especially the 60-130 time. As stated, the key will be improving the 60 foot/0-60 time. I was not planning to take this car to the drag strip, but I may have to to experiment with the launch on a good surface. We'll see if that's in cards over the next couple of months.

Below are the times corrected for Density Altitude. IMO, a P300 Coupe on 18s would cut some surprising times given its weight advantage.
