Default dual colored pipes on F-Type R?

I have a Salsa Red F-Type R and it came with dual colored exhaust tips. The outside ones are golden and the inner are silver. I have looked at 5 other F-Type R's and none of them have this feature, none of them were red either. I asked the dealer and they were pleasantly surprised by the find as they had never seen that before.
Anyone have this feature? Anyone know why it is there? It is not listed on the options list for my car.
And before anyone asks, no it is NOT discoloration or oxidization on the pipes. :-)

Stainless steel changes colour if it gets warm enough, so you might get that if the exhaust were running VERY hot. But it's a new car so probably not.

'Un-documented production feature' seems most likely.

Does the F type use all four pipes? The XK does not only two are active at ony given time, that may cause the discoloration of the one pair that has been used predominantly. Yes, stainless steel exhaust will turn golden when hot.

I met Abed on Saturday at our weekly E@RTC meet-up. I have no idea what caused the outside pipes to show as golden; but, golden they were!

Great looking F-Type, BTW. First F-Type I've seen in Salsa Red. Really pops on those black wheels.

I bet someone in Dubai is wondering where their custom order with solid gold and sterling silver exhaust pipes is.

If you look on page 3 of the training material for the exhaust, you will see that all 4 pipes are used

The technical diagram below, from Jaguar, indicates that all 4 pipes are used although in slightly different flow geometry.

naaaah, looks to me that there are valves in the outside exhaust pair. The outside pair is then only used in dynamic mode when the sport exhaust valves are open. In normal mode you only use the two inner pipes. Just like the XKs.

I think that's right.... the outside pipes in the v8 provide additional straight through airflow for active exhaust.
I am not sure what you mean by "only 2 are used", but this suggests that in normal mode the inner 2 are used and maybe the outer 2 are also used with limited or no airflow (depending on whether the valves actually shut all the way) , and in open exhaust mode all 4 are used.
The electrical diagram doesn't indicate a shutoff relay for the inner pipes when the valves are open, so all 4 should be used.

My car def has sootier inside pipes because i run it in noisey mode most of the time (well i think its the inside pipes) and if you put your hands over the pipes and switch between the two you will def notice the difference!!
But as for one set being golden, really, prove it!!!!

I already posted a link in this thread to a pic of red R in Europe with the same gold tip option.

Boy, you guys are a tough crowd!
I did dispel the notion that it was discoloration in my opening post :-)
You all even supported my point as the Golden colored exhaust was the outside exhaust (the one used only in Sport Mode) and thus likely the less used of the two.
I discovered this on the second day of ownership with less than 100 miles on the car, and the car was cold and being washed. I am very familiar with exhaust pipe discoloration, and this is not it.
I took a picture for all of you, sorry I did not add one originally. I tried to get the lighting right, hopefully it is clear.
The gold color is consistent and even across the entire pipe, discoloration from heat is never consistent and across the entire pipe.
Discoloration also takes a few miles to set in completely.

Thanks for the pictures. The two cars appear to have different effects on the tailpipes, I don't think we are looking at the same thing.

BTW the smilies holding up the signs are meant to be lighthearted and in jest. No hostility at all.

At .08 -- looks like the red exterior, gold tip option is also available in Canada.

So I wonder if this is on all Salsa Red cars. To date all pictures showing the dual tone tail pipes are Salsa Red. Can other Salsa Red owners see if they have this as well? I wonder if the Italian Racing Red also comes with dual tone colors. So far all Black F-Types have only silver exhaust tips.
Looking forward to hearing from owners of other colors on this mystery.
