Default Dynamic mode

Don't use the dynamic mode very much, but like using the paddles, Can you switch on the dynamic mode while driving, is it safe to do, have always switched when car in idle before driving.

You should be able to use the paddles in any mode, but with the 8 speed when you are in sport mode, once the paddles are engaged they dont disengage by themselves (as they did in the XKR)

yea Bruce bit different than the xkr, it was just to clarify that i can as lizzardo said, i can switch on the dynamic mode while driving. On the sport mode point, can you switch it over on the move too and what's the difference in you choose Sport and dynamic.

You can switch off the paddles after using them - don't recall if you hold in both both paddles, or just the right one.

I have mine configured so they aren't active in dynamic, only dynamic+sport. Probably active in sport only too, but I never use that. Can be configured in the menu via the steering wheel buttons.

Pull and hold right paddle for a few seconds (at least in USA) and manual mode reverts to auto. Worked the same as my XF and in the LR LR4 SUV.

Dynamic + sport, exhaust open. I think there is an old thread on this subject, but we have many new members since then.

Personally, I have Dynamic on w/o Sport most of the time.
In the Dynamic config, everything is "On" (Throttle, Exhaust, Suspension).
I'll leave everything normal for highway driving.
Sport Mode is when you're feeling frisky and/or on a 2-lane.
I have the paddles enabled in both modes (although my wife's car has them set only for Sport).

To expand on the posts above, when you use the paddles in regular Drive mode, the transmission will revert to automatic if you're drive along a bit at a steady pace. In Sport mode, the paddles stay active. In both modes, holding the right (+) paddle for a few seconds will take it back to automatic.

As part of my pre-flight check, I put into Dynamic (exhaust open) and sport mod. The the top goes down. Often TracDSC mode is engaged.

Since I rarely put the top up, however on long highway runs I will put it in what my wife refers to as gentleman mode; to soften the noise.

So seems a lot of people drive around in dynamic mode, so what's the best settings to get the most from it. What's the best way to go in the settings. Usually i just have it in D while cruising, with dynamic off, haven't used in any other configuration. I just use the paddles from time to time on slow driving, like through a town or village, more noise any input welcome. My older xkr had none of this trickery.
Don't even know if it has The Configurable Dynamics system, it may have been an option, if it hasn't this what's the setup then.

I suppose it's a bit up to you and how you like to drive. I very much like the noise and the responsiveness of dynamic mode and paddle shifting. But as I posted earlier, there are times to just sit back and cruise. E.g. after a few too many out with the misses. I would say, that is why they have the buttons, use them as the mood suits, or consumption dictates.

I use dynamic, except:
1. On long highway cruises. Non-dynamic has lighter steering and throttle response, which is less fatiguing. Also, mileage is slightly better, for those who care.
2. On bad pavement; dampers are a bit softer. I suspect you don't have active dampers, so this wouldn't apply.
3. If temperatures are really cold, as summer tires don't have much traction at cold temps. Then again, I don't drive it much when it's cold out.

If I'm somewhere I can drive aggressively, I throw it in Dynamic+Sport and use the paddles. Or for more noise.

If it has configurable dynamics, it should show up on the screen oin the next window after the home screen (i.e. where the valet stuff etc is).

Mine has the adaptive suspension which goes harder when dynamic is engaged, but it isnt configurable. So essentially if I want to drive in dynamic, it is quite a hard ride, which I dont like.

So first check your main screen and see if there is an adaptive dynamics tile when you go to the second page. If there is, then you are in business. If there isnt, change into dynamic on a second grade road when you are on the move at say 60kph and see if there is a noticeable change in the ride. If there isnt, you probably dont have adaptive suspension so only the steering weight and throttle response (and exhaust) will change when you engage dynamic - I'm not sure about transmission.

Personally I like the transmission when it is in sport. Holds gears much longer, really good for twisty roads.

If you have configurable dynamics you can use it to turn of aggressive throttle but keep the steering and suspension in dynamic. I like this for more cruising type driving and it saves gas, and isn't as loud. Also if the wife is in the car I may turn off suspension too.

Have seen where some people pulled fuse 15 in the engine bay left hand fuse box where the F-Type 3.0 S active exhaust not fitted, no factory switch,it leaves the AE valves open, No problems and an ideal solution for those that don't have the factory switch. So no apparent problems, no warning messages is this the case, anyone done it.
