That's a lovely concept that looks like it never got off the ground. That story is from 2013.

It was a pretty car, and certainly draws a closer comparison to the E-Type, but I like the F-Type look better.

Given the timing against the launch of the F-Type, I wonder if the reason they never launched this is due to a conflict with JLR? That or perhaps they didn't feel it cost effective to compete with the Jaguar offering.

If Jaguar themselves would do it, it would be a massive hit, but I think Jaguar's retro design is dead.

Jaguar actually built some continuation Lightweight E-Types priced somewhere north of $1M per copy.

Yes, but those were with leftover parts that were never assembled and already had registered VIN numbers from the period. I don't see them developing an entirely new car with retro styling.

Along those lines...
The Stunning Eagle E-Type // Eagle E-Types

Be sure to check out the Eagle Speedster and Low-drag GT, if you haven't before. (We're discussed them before here.)

I feel comfortable saying that the Eagle Speedster is by far the most beautiful thing that has ever existed on four wheels. I truly wish I had the means. I don't care how advanced and fast a modern super car is, they would pale in comparison of the experience of owning and driving a Speedster. It's perfect in every dimension in such a way that doesn't make it look like an E-Type interpretation.

Well, Jeremy Clarkson (remember him?) said it may not only be the most beautiful car he'd every seen, it may be the most beautiful thing he'd every seen. It is stunning, no question.

I agree, the eagle is one of the most beautiful objects ever created.

Oh and the Lyonheart is also very nice, pity it didn't make it, but would have been interesting competing with the F. In some ways more refined, but also much more expensive.

Yeah, I see the Lyonheart as a long distance GT car, in the same fashion as the XK.
