If you are tuned on a blend of e85 and notice no difference then you need need tuner. The purpose of e85 is that it burns cooler and its a higher octane rating. So you can be more aggressive in the tune with timing etc.

Yes, VAP told me that even the summer blend 91 octane gas is probably not to par with 91. E85 is supposed to help boost it up to 93, which would no doubt make the engine run better in the case of pure gasoline. However, the question is whether E85+91=93 with a tune is viable, as opposed to straight 93.

Currently I have no worries about octane as I'm running a 50/50 water meth injection kit that the engine is not reliant on, it's simply auxiliary cooling with the added benefit of raising octane. It's great, changing fuel to e85 I would retune for it. It's interesting to note your check engine light came on at such a small mixture. Do you recall the codes? Perhaps short term fuel trims were being maxed out?

What mpg are you getting? I mean its a decent difference in costs to refill it, right? U save a decent amount more I would imagine. Is the difference in pops and crackles large?
