Which model do you have? In my R Coupe switching to Dynamic mode disengages eco mode, and it stay that way all day long!

Eco mode is definitely disabled when you select Dynamic mode. Are we talking about the same thing? There's no config you need to do - switching dynamic on switches eco mode off.

my problem with eco mode (other than it not being particularly smooth in operation) is that it doesn't wait until the car is warm before operating. Once I leave my house and get onto the main roads there are a few stop lights within the first few minutes of driving. I'm not sure that all of the frequent stopping and restarting is good for what is still a relatively cold engine.

Also, it's possible the brake to a stop without the engine stopping. Pressing the pedal a little more once stationary then cuts the engine.

This may have been covered already.

Mine is R as well and it disengages with dynamic and it can also be disengaged with a button on the counsel.. read your manual and it should tell you what to do.
The complete fix is simply to take the negative cable off the small battery in the back which is the eco start battery.. My jag. mechanic says its easy and it serves no other function. This will disable it.

Any chance you can post a picture of this battery and its general location?

you mentioned the behavior in post 18 but I don't think you mentioned you had the base v6. my apologies if you mentioned your configuration in a different thread. I don't specifically read all of your posts on this forum.

well if someone else can confirm the behavior in their base v6 then my guess is that I probably need to toggle some type of config setting through my nav system.

Next time I have the car out, I'll check the trunk and give you the exact location.

Can't speak to an F-Type, but I have an XJL V6, and the eco mode is still automatically enabled in dynamic mode.

I've checked with all 3 jag dealerships within 50 miles of downtown seattle and their response is that that they're not aware of the ability to disconnect eco mode and even if they did know of a way, they would not be willing to do it. Does anyone here know of a good jaguar auto specialist within 25 miles of downtown Seattle that you would trust to turn off eco mode?

The service guy @ the jag dealership did confirm that switching to dynamic mode on the f-type should disable eco mode.

The service guy sat in the passenger seat while I switched to dynamic mode to confirm that the expected behavior was not working as expected.

Sorry, didn't see this discussion from more than a month ago.

Since you asked for a 2nd owner's confirmation on Eco mode behavior in the base V6, I can also confirm that it IS disabled when you switch to Dynamic mode.

There's also an alternative means of keeping the engine from shutting down while in Eco mode. Simply paddle a downshift once or twice when rolling to a stop, and the engine won't shut down. This works even when driving it as a standard automatic in Eco mode.

fyi - I checked with the dealer and he said that starting with 2015 f type models - switching to dynamic mode does not disable eco mode.

I'm just glad we have a have a switch to turn it off because it's pretty damn annoying...

That does not include the 2015 f type coupes, unless that is going to be a mid-year change.

My 2015 model F type R does disable eco when I switch to dynamic.

I've lost track of the number of times that someone at a dealer has given me incorrect information.
