ECU, Pulley, Air Filter Feedback
Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and new to the Jag family. I bought a new MY16 F-Type R last summer and am on the fence with doing some mods to it. As the title of the thread suggests I'm looking at perhaps an ECU tune, pulley upgrade, high flow air filters and some sport cats.
It seems like the two main players in the ECU tune area are Velocity AP and Eurocharged. While there are some lengthy threads on both I'm just looking for some honest feedback from people that have done either tune and their thoughts... noticeable difference in power, any mechanical issues, how long have they had the tune...
Any feedback is appreciated! Ciao!

After having done the APVelocity tune and S/C pulley... A little different feel but nothing earth shattering. The difference between say 550 and 600 HP is just about 10% which is not like 20 to 30%, the range in which you really can not only tell but respect it. I think worth it to some not others.

I didn't know that the air filters produce a different sound from the stock ones. That's interesting.

Well... like a standard K&N filter isn't going to do anything. Performance or sound. But the pod filters and alike that remove the plastic intake piping will increase supercharger wine.

When I replaced my stock filters with the K&N and changed the super charger pulley on my XKR, the wine was much louder and noticable. I'm just starting to do some mods now on my f type and when I get to that part Ill let you know.

Many dynos have verified these gains. You're the only person thus far who I've heard be anything other than thrilled with the tune from VelocityAP. I think maybe your expectations are just a little off from what a car like this is capable of. Extreme gains found on overbuilt turbocharged cars just aren't possible with this platform. It's already nearing max potential.

How else are you supposed to increase airflow without going to a K&N or BMC? From people I've talked to that have experience racing they all have pushed me to install a high-flow filter. They also noted that over oiling is far too common... some of the Lambos and Ferrari's they race they don't even re-oil... they just blow out the filter with compressed air and throw them back in.

That I do not know. I do know that Hennessey offers the HPE600 package which includes high-flow filters. I've been told that when increasing HP increasing airflow is a given. I'd prefer not to change them if it really didn't make a difference.
