ECU, Pulley, Air Filter Feedback

Do you change cars often or keep them for a long time? Thanks for the feedback btw.. seems like you're quite knowledgeable from the posts I've read by you.

Check my signature block. I typically buy a new car every 12-15 years and have a tough time letting them go (except for the '74 Mustang II..bleccch!). My wife is even more extreme: had her first car for 10 years, the second for 20 years, and with 8 years on the third, considers it new. As you can see, there's no need to factor depreciation into any of my car purchases.

For what it's worth, my MINI with a pulley/tune is still going strong after 13 years and 130k miles.

To some extent you're comparing apples with oranges, as you have the V8 and Lance has the V6.
Lance has reported that the upper pulley mod on the V6 isn't worth the cost and hassle, as it's only a mm or two smaller than stock, and by far the better bang for buck on the V6 is the bigger lower/crank pulley (as well as being much less of a PITA to fit).
With the V8 though it's a bit different, the upper pulley mod gives good bang for your buck and the lower/crank pulley not so much.
I can't recall anyone who has done both pulley mods on a V8.

No no no.... the lower crank pulley still by far gives you the biggest increase on the V8. Anywhere from 10-18% size increase depending on where you go. The upper pulley doesn't match this.

Since the OEM lower pulley on both engines is identical, I would have to vote with Stohlen on the V8 application. The lower pulley from Eurotoys or VAP will net an 11.5-11.8 % SC speed increase with a much easier installation than the upper pulley. The upper pulley swap on the V8 will only net you 6.5% (EuroCharged) to 9% (MinaGallery).

Ours is about 180mm outside to outside across the back and 175mm top of the ribs to top of the rib. I suspect Eurotoys is pretty much identical to that.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f-type-x152-72/velocityap-jaguar-f-type-ecu-tuning-v6-v6s-v8s-v8r -158091 / page21 /
[/ Quote]
Stuart, what pulley do you recommend, 62 or 60.5mm?
Thanks.

Jaguar uses ITG filters on their Project 8 XE as OEM and also similar setup on their GT4 racers. Do a serach on this forum for ITG, been discussed at some length.
I have the Maxogen setup fitted, and now in it's second year of service.
Couldn't recommend them more...easy to wash and re-oil with their own formulation oil from Rock Oil, boy, it's sticky.
The whine from the SC is an absolute joy. Power differences cannot be felt at all if there is anything which I beleive is going to be low any way.
The added SC whine adds another 45hp and betters the 0-60 time :-)
