Default ECU Pulling Timing- Power Loss

I'm sure the more technical guys will chime in but I experienced something that I never went through on my previous F-TYPEs

-Sat in extended periods of standstil traffic in 95 degree heat
-When traffic finally cleared, and I got on the throttle, the car made no power. The engine revved normally but was an absolute dog getting up to speed. Gearshifts felt soft as well. This was in all driving modes.
-When I got home, I let the car sit overnight
-Today, on my drive to work, car felt like it was making power but was the exhaust note was definitely more muted and the snorts between upshifts were not happening. Gearshifts felt back to normal

I'm suspecting that the catalytic convertors were overheating from the traffic and the ECU pulled timing hence the no power. But I can't figure out why after letting the car sit overnight, why the exhaust note was muted and the snorts unless the ECU goes back to reverts to a failsafe mode until a certain amount of drive cycles are done again. No CEL.
