Default Engine cover.

We have come to the conclusion that the Engine Cover (shroud) on the F TYPE (my 2015 3.0) is having an effect on the overflow lines coming from the reservoir making them "brittle" and they will snap. There was a heat Test performed and there was a significant difference in the temp. Some members, including me have decided to remove the cover, my question now is i'm curious to know what effect it's going to have on the paint job from under the hood, my F Type is white and i'm afraid now of the paint turning yellow or damaging the paint. Any reply's welcome.

Gary.

The SVR don't have an engine cover.

Removed my cover from V8 R at 9000miles , 30,000 miles later haven't noticed any problems

Had my cover off for over 18 months now (ever since one of those little tubes cracked!) and zero problems.

As I said in the other Topic, our cover has been removed since 3500 miles. No issues or discolored paint. No warped plastic hood vents. 18K miles presently.

In cold weather, the heat through the vents 'shimmers' when I'm stopped at a traffic light. COOL!

This cover basically just "pulls" off?

Yep, four plastic/rubber plugs in the cover go over four metal pegs on the top of the engine, just pull each corner straight up, 30 seconds max and you're done!

3 years of no cover now and no noticeable issues and I live in hot Florida and drive spiritedly.

Thing must happen more slowly in the antipodes than here in Canada. I took the cover off my engine today and that took all of 4 seconds. In fact writing these two lines has taken far longer than removing the cover.

I'm allowing time to open the hood, close it again and put the cover somewhere!

Anyone know where to get the mesh type hood vents for a 15 r? I feel those will vent much better than the stock factory vents.

I thought you were just taking your time to hobble from one side of the car to the other.
