Default engine part

Hi: have a 2016 f type v6 s awd conv. We need a connecting rod due to one rod being bent due to hydrolock. Car runs but has a knock. Have not been able to acquire this part from jaguar . Perhaps someone has an engine they are parting out or someone can tell us wht other jag models use the same engine . Any help would be great

I don't think internals are available separately. You'll need an entire engine assembly.

The rod may still be good. It might just be a pounded out rod bearing. Even if it looks good, you'll need to Magnaflux the rod to make certain it's not cracked. Similarly you may have to do the same with the crank. Inspect the corresponding crank journal carefully. If it requires surfacing you'll need to use an undersized bearing. In all, it might be cheaper to go with a salvaged engine (~$10k).

Have a look in the X250 XF subforum, guy called Dave was able to source crank, rods and bearings for a rebuild of his 5.0 he had access to internal engine parts through some back door contact.
