EPB Release?

EPB Release?
I was poking around in the boot of my manual V6 2016 and noticed a small removable door on the drivers side sidewall. When removed, there was a sticker that said epb door (electronic parking break). Inside was rectangular black plastic device with a bright orange lever locked in place. Could this be an emergency release for the parking break?

Interesting. The 2014MY automatic doesn't have anything like that, though it does have a hidden way of forcing the transmission into neutral (which isn't covered in this document.)

From experience It's important to know how to this. On my a Land Rover I've needed to do it twice, once when the brake module seized up (more likely on a Land a rover when you take it off-road as it is quite sensitive to mud and dirt). And once when the alternator died and took out the battery on the way and the car needed to be towed completely electrically dead.
From the document DJS posted though, it looks like if you don't have the release in the back then you have to remove the module from the wheel which is not an easy roadside fix, that's a worry if that's the case.
I don't like the idea of my F being skull dragged onto a flattop in the case of an electrical failure.
