John, Looks great. Could you walk me through the process? Did you cut the welds? What type of paint?

Thanks!

Sure. Grab some duplicolor shadow black chrome paint. The more coats you lay, the darker itll be. I diddnt want black, but I diddnt like chrome either so I did a few (3-5) coats to leave a semi reflective black sheen.

Then finish off with the clear. It held up quite nice for a year considering the investment ($20)

This begs another question. For the badges, did you use the same product? The way they are masked off makes me think plasti-dip.

Since emblems are near impossible to tape off, I did the two step plastidip method. Tape off a square around the item you want to paint. Then hit that entire square with plastidip. Let it dry, use a toothpick, and remove plastidip from the emblem. This leaves the entire background in black plastidip you can then remove. The paint the emblem with shadow cast paint. When youre done, remove the plastidip square from behind the emblem, over the paint.

on the emblems, I wasnt impressed, but thats because my prep wasnt the greatest, and its a weird angle to spray at. I since removed both emblems off the rear bumper, and repainted the rear bumper. The leaper and jaguar look Ok, but not good enough for my standards, so I bought a new one and am going to paint it off the car, then replace my current emblem with it.

I may just replace the leaper and front emblems, and paint them properly.

Thanks. I've been playing a little with plasti-dip (nothing in the garage is safe) and while I've gotten decent results, I think it would bug me. I've seen where people have gotten new sets and had them done professionally and I think that's the route I'll go.

I highly recommend using this for muffler tips.....

The contrast is amazing and the finish looks factory. Heat resistant, and far more forgiving under close examination.

VHT Wrinkle plus.

That wrinkle finish looks great. Now I just need to figure out what to use it on.

I was very surprised to notice one of my exhaust tips lost on my 2015 V8
Has this happened to anyone else?

Or muffler tips. Like every manufacturer is doing nowadays. Prophetic.
