Extra Key
#21
As I heard it if the key is new on eBay (ie it was never programmed to a vehicle) then you should be able to use it. But people finding their spare Jaguar key in a drawer after they traded it in and thinking of some cash on eBay, not so much....
And I'm not sure I would take the gamble of a $700 KVM module (which I think needs ALL new keys) in order to get a $22 eBay key to work and "save" $400. But I'm not a gambling man. In the words of philosopher and Jaguar tech, Kenny Rogers, "you got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em"

This is what my advisor just text me.
"If the key is from Jaguar we will need the invoice then we can program it to the car $187.00 If it's not OEM key from Jaguar we can't program it."
When I told him it was a brand new OEM fob which was Brand New and purchased from an eBay merchant, he responded with, " Sorry, we can't program it."
Bummer.
Sorry for resurrecting a year old thread...
P.s. I was just told by the same advisor a new fob from them would be $429 plus tax and another $187 to program. No thank you...
