Well, maybe last week's Recall was to address this.

Had my car in for service last week, and they didn't do anything related to the battery/charging/etc.

In the period of time, I've been on this forum, there have been perhaps a half-dozen recalls on the UK cars vs. only one on my car (pax airbag sensor). The UK and US recall processes are clearly very different.

They did the center vent and reprogrammed the climate control, without me ever having complained about it. Also did the passenger airbag rewiring.

Last year, they relocated a harness under the roof, to avoid wear.

Yes, those aren't actual recalls, but TSBs, which are optional. Sounds like you have a good dealer taking care of you. However, it's possible that the UK guys are talking about the same thing and not actual recalls.

Default F Type Low Battery

If you have auto insurance that gives you a discount if you agree to attach a monitoring device for a period of time. WARNING! When this device is attached to the F Type, the car will keep its systems running when the car is off. Your battery will always be low and as I experienced, it will be dead if left for 2 days!https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/i...s/icon_omg.gif

Would you agree to rectally-inserted GPS-enabled monitoring device to save on your life insurance? It is like that, but with cars.

As we all know by now, any device plugged into OBDII port ( programmers, insurance monitoring big brothers, dataloggers, etc.) will cause the battery management system to go haywire on most F-Types, requiring a reboot (disconnect battery for 10 seconds). However, if such a device is plugged in and the management system rebooted while the device is still plugged in, will the battery management system then work properly?

It sounds like these cars may discharge the battery fairly quickly to start, but once they get to a certain threshold, the power save features kick in pretty aggressively and the power drain drops significantly. So I suspect I have nothing to worry. Though I am considering no longer locking the car in the garage to avoid the additional drain from the alarm.
For the last 6 years I have spent 3 plus months in
Florida and my 2015 R type coupe started right up. I
usually drive this car about 2,500 miles per year. So
far, not a single problem.
