Dwight: you might consider an alternate approach?
Forget about who might inherit your F-Type and just drive the **** out of it while you are still able.
At age 77, I have no intention of leaving any (s)miles unused!!
I hope to own my 2021 F Type R long enough to catch it on the uphill curve for values. But at age 68 it's quite a gamble. The one thing that I am doing is keeping it pristine, garaged, perfectly maintained, all original and with fairly low mileage. I would hope that 50 years from now someone owns it and marvels at the condition. Kind of like when a 50+ year old E Type is in someone's collection that requires very little to bring it back to concours condition. Of course I will have no control over what owners subsequent to me do to it but I'd like to think that somebody who isn't even born yet will be thanking me.

I totally agree drive it and enjoy the car. I never agreed with the “I’ll drive it sparingly so it more desirable for someone else” BS I drove my 63 E type coupe (sold) over 50,000 miles and I didn’t care how someone else thought about that. I drive my F type because I bought it to drive it whenever it pleases me, I could care less for the next buyer if and when that day comes. When I go on an extended trip (just like in the E type) I don’t care if it rains or sunny, it has windshield wipers and a heater. I enjoy My Jag all year and drive it as long as no snow or salt on the road. Best car I ever owned and will not deny myself the pleasure of driving her so that someone else can have a nicer jag, my philosophy is “let the next guy worry about it”! I keep her up to date on all maintenance and she is absolutely stunningly beautiful. Needless to say I love driving her, period. That’s IMHO. cheers.
I'm with you, Frank. When the F-Type reaches 55 years old (the E-Type's current age), I'd be 115.
I should probably plan to sell the year before. My son collects Porsche's, so I don't think he'd be interested.
Of course, both the E-Type and I may be dust by then - but there's hope for one of us.

I think the smart money is going to be on the car!
Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying my F Type. In fact I have a trip up the California coast planned for next month. But I would have to really make a concerted effort to put more than 5000 miles a year on it. I bought my Mazda CX 5 the month that I retired and have only put 20,000 miles on it in 4 years. And so far only about 8000 miles on my F Type in 2 years.
My F Type puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and that is worth a lot. It will be treated with a lot of TLC as long as it remains in my care.

How far up the coast are you going? I head out to the NorCal coast now and then, myself.
I bought my "14 as a retirement gift to my self. Now has 27k and I just turned 75. I drive it almost every day just not very far, even if we go to the strip it's only 6-10 miles. Our '17 Maser has 21k! I guess we drive about 6k miles a year.
Eeeeek, I will be going as far as San Simeon. Most of my driving since I bought the car has been in the Sou. Cal. mountains and desert so it will be nice to get over to the coast once I get past L.A.
Congrats on the sale! Have been following it and must congratulate you on your photos, documentation, responses and the care you put into the car. I think that all of that came out during the auction and I hope you are happy with the sale. BAT is BAT. You will get a lot of comments from people who haven't a clue what they are talking about but like to write that they have two GT-3's,, a ZO6 and an Enzo in the garage so they can't buy another car. One just has to get past that nonsense.
In any case , hope that you are happy and looking forward to your new car......
I absolutely LOVE my F-Type. For all the reasons we here understand. It's just a stupidly fun car, full of personality.
Unfortunately, the reputation Jag has is one of substandard reliability and difficulty with maintenance.
This website goes a very long way towards addressing common issues. But even so, we could probably do even better, and have a searchable database for each and every problem (and it's resolution) We do this in the aviation world, and it makes a huge difference, as we no longer spend weeks troubleshooting a difficult problem.

Thanks. I was a bit worried about the shill bidders (fun bidders) on BAT. Overall, the process went well aside from BAT having several typos in my listing (they write the listing) and I missed two of them prior to going live. The Buyer is really excited and wired the funds very soon after winning and me sending the Bill of Sale. Not really getting a new vehicle at this point. Have to downsize the number of cars I have with retirement coming up ... Unless something really catches my eye.
