Default F Type Coolant temperature issue

Good Day Ladies and Gents,

a couple of days ago I noticed that my F type V6S has thrown a check engine under hard acceleration,
After reading the errors, I got P0126, P0118 and P0119 errors.
I connected the OBD and took the car for a gentle drive, the temperature seems to be going from 108 degrees C to even -40 degrees and back to 110, not much later again -18 and so on. It seems that either the coolant temperature sensor is dead or the electric cable for it is broken.
Also, it seems that the car, at the very start of highway driving, soon after reaching cruising speed of around 60-70 miles the coolant temperature can reach up to 130 degrees throwing an engine overheating fault.

I would like to check the sensors and cables, but can you advise me on the location of the coolant sensor?
It it under the read coolant crossover pipe or on the thermostat? Or maybe both? Which of them is throwing the error?

Kind regards,

Ufok

Two engine coolant temperature sensors (ECTs), numbers 26 and 38 on the attached diagram.
26 is sensor 2 and appears to be attached to a bottom radiator hose.
38 is sensor 1 and as you guessed it is on the underside of the top coolant cross-over pipe (the one in plain view top/front of the engine).
The diagram is from the Workshop Manual for my car so it is for the early model V6, 2013 to 2015, with the problematic flanged coolant pipes including that top one with the sensor underneath. If you have a later model, 2016 onwards, that pipe will be round and smooth not flanged and maybe the ECT sensor 1 is in a different spot but odds on it is still in the same spot.

Thanks OzXFR, mine is an early 2014 V6S. The access to the rear one is a disaster haha. I hope he is not the culprit. I wonder though, which one is actually showing on the dashboard and on the OBD throwing errors (the left gauge with coolant temp indicator and blue/red bottom/top ends). The OBD does not see separate coolant temperature sensors, only one reading is displayed.

Same model as mine.
Get yourself a copy of the Workshop Manual from my Dropbox here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d52ciochjn...anual.pdf?dl=0
This may or may not give you the extra info you are after.

9 times out 10 it's your thermostat sensor ,just replace your thermostat ,for now keep your car in Dynamic mode if you have to drive it ,that will keep the Temps down,I no that sound weird but trust me
