I totally agree. I actually think the F-Type V6 exhaust note is in the top 5 of the most exotic and pleasing I've ever heard. For me, perhaps it's because I've owned so many loud, high-powered V8s over the years and just gotten somewhat bored with the same old sound. I was never impressed by any V6 exhaust note before, but this one is spectacular. Maybe it's the novelty, but I usually turn off the sound system because that lovely, raspy, crackling V6 just sounds too good.
When I drove a V8S, it reminded me of a Mustang (Coyote) 5.0 with an aftermarket exhaust.
EDIT: The last sentence above was NOT in any way intended as an insult to the F-Type V8 exhaust note. It sounds great, as does the Coyote 5.0 when equipped with a Ford Racing GT-500 exhaust system. I owned one. They are both among the best sounding V8s on the planet. I am just enamored with the very unique and exotic sound of the V6 in the F-Type.

Yes, that's normal, even with cars that don't have active exhaust as many base cars don't. Dynamic mode changes a number of parameters in the ECU including those that make the exhaust sound more aggressive, among other things.

I haven’t really used the paddle shifters until today. I noticed driving in dynamic mode, active exhaust on and shifter to left in sport mode that each manual shift using the paddles results in what sounds like machine gun fire blips after each gear change. Awesome sound engineering on this car!

Even in the city, when there are traffic jams or you have to drive slower anyway, you still can have some fun in 2nd gear when releasing the gas at 4k rpm.
And about the gear shift sound, you almost never produce it when changing gears in auto mode. And it surely makes all the difference. The gearbox response also helps. It feels so smooth and almost invites you to use the paddle shifters.

The high point of this had to be the tunnels on the way to Le Mans in 2005 while travelling in convoy.

I can't recall hearing that engine so outfitted, as they are fairly rare in the US these days. Most VWs in this country are I4, 2.0Ts.
With regard to tunnels, I regularly travel through a long tunnel which goes under the National Mall in Washington, DC. I have to accelerate quickly to merge (no merge lane) with always heavy traffic just as I'm entering the tunnel, and the sound is quite impressive. I'm expecting flashing red and blue lights behind me any day now because of the public spectacle emanating from F-Type's rear trumpets.
