They are just more forgiving and also allow me to put actual things in my trunk.
I see you have a 2017 S, in which case you should have Dynamic-I.
If you have it then maybe you can set Dynamic mode like I have on mine - dynamic everything except suspension set to "normal". That way you get the improved throttle and gearbox response without the bumpy ride.

I agree that the most important thing is to try it out but ride quality is subjective. I swapped out from a Miata and that used to get tiring after a couple of hours. Not so the F type - it is snug but I find the ride quality one of its most attractive features. Saying that it's also a long time since I owned a car focused on comfort

I had my right rear suspension replaced a couple of years ago and it was worth the cost in every way. I'm sure I can get another 58k out of it as long as all the other parts don't wear out.

Definitely a daily use car! I had four hours today, more in the city, very comfortable. I would work on it too, driving, if I could! Mine is a YES!

I went for a spin today in an S coupe. HOLY SCHNEIKEES! I was yelling because I was having so much fun!

The salesman did a great job by having me drive it first, then show me that is has almost no trunk space. That is now my biggest concern.

The fit was pretty good. No problem on the height for me, and the salesman was 6' 5" and was fine. It was hard getting in/out with the foot wells, which concerns me.

I also now have to convince the girlfriend, which will probably be the biggest chore.

Thanks for all your advice!

I assume it had a spare (spacesaver) in the trunk, coz with that removed there is plenty of space. Just remove it and add a puncture repair kit, should keep the GF happy.

If he were a really good salesman, he would have shown you the convertible trunk first - the coupe is cavernous in comparison.

6'4", 175lbs and I daily drive my F Type R AWD Coupe. No complaints. However, the convertible will have almost no trunk space, so having it as the only car would not be the smartest idea, as it was pointed out before.
As far as the harsh ride...well, yeah it aint' no S-class, but it is not NEARLY as bad as some publications (and Jeremy Clarkson) made it out to be.

I find the coupe has plenty of space for even trips with luggage. Not sure how much you need?

I daily drive a vert. The trunk size makes Costco trips an adventure for sure, but I've always be able to get everything in the car even with a passenger.

As I was explaining to a friend at work who is a recent Miata daily driver - the lack of rear seats and trunk space are to be celebrated, not something lamented.

I don't have the size constraints, but I do drive daily. I live in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. After two recent trips down to Miami with my bride, we've concluded this will not be a long distance travel car - we'll drive my Genesis sedan. Don't get me wrong - love the performance (used to road race) and love driving this - but on long hauls my aging body has gotten spoiled to the modern day luxury ride. Maybe I'll change that tune after the afternoon at the track tomorrow!

I can not speak on the topic of daily driver as I don't; more a fair weather driver. However, in regards to the vert boot space, yes it's a bit small, but my wife and I take many long weekend trips and can carry enough for a overnight or two without issue.

I used to own a BMW 335i with sport suspension & run flats - now THAT was a harsh ride! Felt like it literally had no suspension whatsoever. The F Type is magic carpet smooth in comparison.

Wait, are you saying the trunk in the convertible is bigger?

Obviously he is saying that if you had seen the pitiful vert trunk first you and the GF would not have complained about the comparatively huge coupe trunk!

Default SVR is smoooooth

SVR is a much better daily driver than my R was. Ironically, it's softer and smoother than the R.

jfranks: You mentioned in a 2017 post that you drive your F-type in Chicago in the winter. I am also in Chicago and wondered what you have done about tires. I have been checking the forum for opinions on all-seasons (which I prefer for less hassle) and the Michelins seem to be the preferred choice. Which way did you go, winter or all-seasons?
Thanks.
