F Type - Door Locking Failure - Trunk has to be opened and closed
Have a strange one - It seems randomly that my doors will not lock ( I get the ususal tone) and I have to open and close the trunk.. Is there some sensor or what may be causing the trunk to look to be open (when it is not) and thus not allowing the doors to lock? I know it is related to the trunk as when this happens I have to open it and close it and then the doors lock.
Thanks for any Ideas, Don

At this point in our cars' age, I'd be tempted to apply a drop or two of light oil to the latch mechanism. It's possible the existing grease/oil has dried out a bit, and the latch hook/arm isn't swinging down quite far enough to actuate the switch that senses closure. Then when you slam it, it connects...
Don, post back with your findings.
