I have an Alfa dealer nearby. He diverisfied into supercars. He has loads of AM, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley etc etc..
When my son and I go for a spin, we sometimes go there and gawk at it all. Actually all cars are open and you can sit.

We can play with the seats. So I know when my son sits in the back of a Rapide [ 1,85m ] , I can not get into the
front seat at all anymore...

I've only seen one dbs superleggara in the wild, I have to say it was unusual looking because the front is huge but then it gets flattened and streamlined at the back, it reminded me of the planet killer from the old Star Trek. On top of that with the black top flattening out the roof, it looked as though the driver was sitting very low. But all of that said I thought it looked awesome, rather than pretty.

I'll have mine in red. https://www.thegentlemansjournal.com...ra-is-red-hot/

Looks like you might struggle to get one Bruce (never mind the price which I guess would be north of $500,000 AU), I just checked CarSales and not a single late or current model DBS for sale, nada zip zero zilch. Probably "special order by appointment only" and lots of sucking up to the local AM dealership.

Haha, it is only a faint dream for me. I'll stick to wrapping the roof pillars black on mine. Never mind, the way these things depreciate it will be $200K in 3 years time and I could be tempted at that, but then there is the awful tech inside and the centre stack that looks like a 1980's Akio stereo being pushed out of a vagina.

Before buying the F Type I was tempted by a 3 year old DB9 that was being sold at $200K under the original buy price, with only about 2,000km on it. I figured that every time the owner had taken it out to buy a pie it had cost him about $1,000.

Ah, the F-Type for people with more money than sense! Or if you're American: more dollars than cents?

Aston’s are beautiful (a little less than before with the gaping front end in my opinion) but I would save some money and by a Portofino. Now that car is beautiful, powerful with a folding hard top that looks good up or down.

It is also less expensive with 7 years of service included. Oh and the steering wheel is worth the money itself.

For what it's worth, their take on a true GT seemed to be more that you had to have a lot of power, a great ride, a lot of cabin comforts, and room for plenty of luggage, so as to be able to cross a continent in style and comfort.
There was a member here who drove his F-Type all across North America. I'd say the F-Type also fits their description.

One of these Aston superleggera DBS are in my neck of the woods in Tiburon. I see it at least a few times a week. It turns my head in a way that is reminiscent of the first time I saw F-Type spear. Most cars do not turn my head. I always thought that Ian destroyed Aston, because he designed a car that was more accessible, to the point of making Aston relatively obsolete. But they are back, and that car is beautiful. I never enjoy a foolhardy investment like that. But one can stare longingly.

IMO, the Vantage is far more attractive than the Superleggara.

It looks the works, and the price is better.. .. but I do not fit in it.

The F-Type has about 5cm more legspace and 3cm more headroom . For me its fit or not fit.

Agreed, butI think the Superleggara is the meaner looking of the two, and that appeals to me.

Just returned from Phoenix & Palm Springs from Gig Harbor WA. The F-Type is more Sports Car than GT. The boot has very little room for clothes, luckily we were headed to a warm climate. Going 500 miles in a day is more of a challenge than I wanted. Love the car but need to have less miles in a day for a trip, I would imagine a GT to be more comfortable with greater room.

I’ve done 900 miles in a day, ten times I think. I find it plenty comfortable, but probably helps that I fly solo.

DJS, that is quite a day, I was comfortable with the trip just made for a long day. We were on a mission to get home.

Thanks

@DJS
Amazing, 900 miles alone in a day. Must have been more then 14 hours. I don't do that anymore. Used to do it up tp ten years ago,
driving my Land Rover 2500km south to our summer house in the Algarve. Stil, never did more then 1100km a day and found that substantive,
while the Discovery is way more comfortable then the FT is...

We'll see in a few weeks when the roadtrip with my son starts. First day is 1000km Autobahn, plenty of roadworks. Not much full speed I'm afraid..

1000km on the Autobahn is a short 4 hour trip
