Scosche adhesive mag mount is #1. Clamp type mounts are bulky and cheap/tacky looking. Get a Spigen thin fit case for your phone with the metal plate mount inside the case, done.
Nice to take their vent push-on mount on trips when driving a rental car - $12.
They make this mag-mount case for most mobile phones:

Just ordered a variety of the Scosche to see which works best with the angles in the FType. Oz's looks like the 'Surface' model, but seems to vertical to not be the 'Original' model. So I got two vent attachments (on clearance) a Pro dash and a surface. FYI - some of them are cheaper at amazon if you like to get the best deal.
Some of the reviews say the 3M adhesive doesn't hold...hope that's not the case as that would be annoying.
I'll post an update once I get them installed.

I'm never even going to attempt to remove the holder as I'm afraid of the damage the glue could do!

I find the adhesive works for phones of a certain size and weight. For example, my work iphone 6 is fine, but my personal Note 4 is much bigger and slightly heavier and thus will make the whole structure fall. Additionally, when the vents are on for heat, it makes the glue unstick and it falls slowly. I am in Canada so I have the vents on sometime for the heat. Still trying to figure out the best place to put the phone in this car.
