Interesting, I dyno'd 524 awhp (SAE correction factor) in my Range Rover Sport Supercharged Dynamic (same drive train) down here in FL with the same VAP tune and pulley. Here is the thread:

https://www.rangerovers.net/threads/.../#post-2288444

Both of my catalytic converters failed as well in two months. I know of at least one other RRS that had theirs fail shortly after the tune was installed as well. Land Rover replaced them under warranty but I traded it on a SVR while it was at the dealer. I'd like to do the pulley and tune on the SVR but now it looks like the factory cats can't survive the tune. I know they've sold tons of the tune so not sure why there isn't more discussion on it?

Nice Buddy! I love the SVR Rover! I AGREE on the CATS! Why aren't more people talking about the shitty O2 sensors and Cat design that come with this car! They will certainly not hold up if you drive hard! Best to you! Enjoy the SVR!

SO now that the power part of the car has been taken care of... I'm looking at the 2 following wheel options. Let me know what you guys think!

SPYDER or F10 ??

F10 for me, but it's highly subjective.

I see that now! Car is running strong! Looks great....I am wondering if my Meth Install and 100 degree cooler IATs and EGTs will stave off the meltdown?? It feels great with the Meth...Just keeps pulling! and stays nice and cool. Should be like 116 Octane with the spray, and funny thing is, I am most happy about cleaning those valves and pistons!

May have to get the Cats at some point anyway. I do have a lift in my garage, and I am financing an auto franchise for the next 7 years for someone, so could use any of those 6 lifts as well...so MAYBE I could do the cats myself? I did the ones on my 997 TT and they were a bit of a bitch...Had to replace nearly every stud and nut after only 15K miles. I bought all of the S wrenches and U wrenches, so maybe that will help?

Take care,
DC

I honestly have no clue how to remove the top bolt on the passenger side. I had to bring it to the JAG dealer and my buddy who is the service manager said that removing the OEM downpipes is a bitch!

Torque Adapter Wrench is probably a winner.

Yes, that's exactly what is takes. Issue is that the tool set cost more than what Jag charged me lol It was an easy decision for me at that point! Thank you guys for chiming in!

I see your into modding it too. Thats awesome. When I did my stage 2 I replaced my cats before they went. My Type R V8 transformed into a different car. So I decided to go all the way and do the upper pulley with a new snout for reliability, the thermostat, water pump, Cat Back valved exhaust and did the cats at the same time. new Rear diffuser and wing, and reinforced all the water plastic bits with CF and disposed of the cheap water vent tubing for AN lines for reliabilty. I also added 1 step colder plugs. Everything was running like a beast. Then smoked a fuel injector. So I changed those as well.

If you ever need help, let me know and I'll see if I can. This winter Im going to see how to cool this thing a little better while running standing still and driving.

I have to say, these cars look and sound amazing. You picked a great car to play around with!

given these cars have such a massive chunk of metal on top of the engine by the blower, the old drag racing trick of slapping a couple bags of ice on the manifold is probably a decent idea when dynoing back-to-back. That or just finding a dyno/tuner that has half a brain cell to provide adequate airflow.

A little secret of mine, when I go drag racing, I always have 2-3 bags of ice that I keep on the supercharger and intake y-pipe while waiting for my turn to go.
