Could be a money maker if bought at lease end then sold (assuming low Mileage)?
It's possible. Lease ends in May 2018. Residual is $51k. I have the perfect R for me ... 0 options, but may not be that desirable in the market place.

I was just offered this on a $110k R coupe with an 10% discount:
36 month/12k per year
$1357 per month
$0 down
MF .00050
54% residual
This just seems like an awful deal in comparison. This is on a '17 coupe that the dealer has discounted to $99k, and they want $13,000 to get anywhere near $1k per month. Chicagoland jag dealers are extremely difficult.

sounds about right. you would need to get them down on the price.

assuming you paid drive offs and 1st month payment. you would be about $1275/month after tax per month as it sits. $9k + driveoffs would get you right at $1k month based on that msrp.

you should really work on the dealer to bring the price down at least another 5%. a quick search on cars.com i found this car that's advertised at 15% off MSRP.

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...4286/overview/

that puts you at like 1140/month with drive offs.

Thanks, ShaunPa! I have negotiated down to $1,160/month, 12K/year, with $5k down + first months payment and drive off. But I'm thinking there's a little more room.

they're just shifting the numbers around and not actually lowering the price. it actually looks like they have increased the price about $1000 from my math.

ignore the payment for right now and negotiate the price with them. if other cars are being advertised at a 15% discount, that's where i would start. if they sold you the car at $93,500 (15% off) that puts you at 1108 a month with paying the drive offs (first month + tax, lic, etc, roughly about $2600). with $5k down that gets you to 955.

This was an old thread so may not have been where you meant to land but
  • Your trade is not applicable in this analysis since that's a wash.
  • What do you mean by 4K miles? Is it a "demo" with 4K miles on it already? If it is a demo with 4K miles already on it.. none of the below is applicable IMHO
  • 33 months for $998 with zero down & 10K miles is "in-line".
  • If it's a coupe and the residual is 54% then that is $78,300
  • If final purchase price is $108K then that's a $37K discount which is ~26% off MSRP & about right for current sales. One guy here did get $42K off but did not get the lease financing so your deal seems OK
  • $108K less $78,300 is $29,700 so divided by 33 yields $900/month before taxes & fees so $998 is "in-line.

Not "just" a v8 but rather it's actually an SVR with most every option!
Next time wait until the next year's models are out. As the 2018's are now out, the 2017s are essentially 1 year old new, old stock cars. There also seems to be a HUGE drive on discounting for some reason. Most are seeing discounts of 20% - 25% on not only the SVRs but also some of the base units. There's a $64K base model coupe being offered for $49K right now (brand spanking new with 4 miles on it).

Could be due to floor line/planning curtailment if vehicles are in dealer's inventory for more than 180 days.

Yep, we are all VERY familiar with the floor planning but he is reporting it has FOUR THOUSAND miles on it. That's not a floor planning aspect. It seems to be more a "owner's son was driving it prior to registration" kind of thing. It should be interesting to hear the details
