Default F-Type S Special Edition

Just got my first special model roadster in. See if you can tell what makes this one different.

Doesn't look at all bad IMO - the F has one of those designs that can carry a wide range of colors. Thanks for posting!

Not for me but I love it. Bold colors look great on the F-type.

Actually the truth is with all the badging off the car I wanted to do something different. Plan was to take all the chrome black but we couldn't come up with something that would hold up, that plastic stuff doesn't take paint well and the plasti-dip option just doesn't hold up to washing well, at least not on chrome plastic. I didn't figure out the growler came apart for painting until too late in the process so the R change was all I could get to work. I probably should have just had them leave all the badging off until I could think of something more creative. I'm still planning on showing up at Jaguar events and telling other F-Type owners that the color and the R option was on page three of the option list, didn't they see it or how this car was specially made for (insert celebrity name here) or some such for fun. I once had a special piano built just so I could tell dates it was haunted. That one didn't work out so well as they often left my apartment screaming, hmmm, maybe I shouldn't share that...

Looks like something Snoop Dog would roll in.
As for the Posing "R" re-badge it's character validation.

The car certainly has a "personal" taste to it especially with the plum paint job. I like it however I would not have re-badged it but if it works for you then that's what matters. I like it when a person goes outside the norm. Hope you and wife enjoy it!

I like the carbon fiber treatment to the front spoiler, I was thinking of doing the same thing with "Faux Carbon-Fiber".

That's a wrap too, it turned out rather nice. That wasn't dual layer and if I had to do it over I think I'd go dual layer with the carbon fiber as well, match up better with the wheels.

So with your new information added on the older post let me try to summarize.

You took a beautiful Black F Type and covered it in a purple wrap color that 9 out of 10 pimps would select. You gave it to your wife, who ironically appears to be a product branding expert according to your website, as an anniversary present. You re-badged it with an “R”, which it is not, because you are, “planning on showing up at Jaguar events and telling other F-Type owners that the color and the R option was on page three of the option list, didn't they see it”? Or “how this car was specially made for (insert celebrity name here) or some such for fun.” Then you post all of this on the F Type forum for all to see your foolish plan.

Wow. Some of those F Type owners will possibly waste time looking into your folly either online or personally at the Jaguar dealership while others will see right through the crap you are putting out. In the end you will be identified as a poser and the “one guy” that is always in the crowd. In addition, you are probably setting your wife up in that she is not part of your poser plan.

So what positive impact are you adding to the Jaguar community?

Disgusted, as I am sure many real R Type owners are!

Walt

I'm sorry what I did bothered you so much you felt the need to attack me and my wife personally. Personally I think that is an inappropriate response and violates the rules of this forum but I'll leave that to the moderators. The car looks great, folks appear to love it, and in the end it is our car. But I think I'll avoid responding to your posts from here on.

SWA,

I guess if you are talking about my addressing the color I agree with you. I would not personally have picked it but it is his car. So I would apologize for the color remarks in my post. However, the re-badging and planning to trick his fellow F Type owners is very much in bad form I believe.

Rob,

I apologize for my remarks as to the color of your car. It's your car.

As for the re-badging and tricking your fellow F Type owners, you know how I feel about that.

Walt
