Yes there should be a plug and should have wiring to the amp. If you didnt have a speaker there the will not be any singal on it. It would only work of you had Meridian 770 Surrround system.

Im planning my upgrade with a Helix DSP.
Just trying to figure out if the shop would need to run a wire or not.
Can anyone with a center speaker confirm if the black wire is already wired up and has a speaker plug attached to the center channel speaker?
Cheers.

If the wiring is present almost 100% sure it runs all the way back to the amp. I actually have a speaker in my dash location in the 2020 although it is not active, I did have continuity all the way back to the amp. Helix will be a good choice. Actually as of last week they released an updated ver 5.01 of their DSP software. Added some very useful tools to help unwind the Meridian processing if you can't get a MOST 25 audio interface and have to use speaker level signal as your source signal.

That's very good news, thanks for that.
I have to wait a few months for my install.
Just gathering as much info as possible.
Currently I have the Meridian 380W system.
Hopefully adding the center channel will help with the staging when it is tuned.
