I changed my system around a bit since my original design. All the summing and processing is now done using an Audio Control DM-810. You may want to check out this product first before making final decision. It handles summing to accomplish full range low level output, digital crossovers, 30-band equalizer for each output with automatic input to output RTA correction to flatten stock stereo curves, and time alignment. It also has 4 memories which I use for the following:
(1) Top closed/driver seat optimized
(2) Top open/driver seat optimized
(3) Top closed/both seats
(4) Top open/both seats
Memories are selected by pressing a knob installed in steering column. The knob also is level adjustment for subwoofer.
A 10” Kenwood Excelon XW-1000F sub was install in an area behind driver seat low to the ground. The enclosure is made of fiberglass and custom formed to gather airspace under the seat.
The car is in South Florida if anyone wants to hear the system.

I did a major retrofit in my doors of both speakers each side. Amazing difference, retrofitting B&W from XJ. It was a smashing success, along with the amplifier software fix I started the "WoW" thread with. Last change is the speaker on the dash, due in next week to complete.
Sound is incredible....., and so happy I did it. All I need to do now is find out about the rear subs. Can you tell me with pictures exactly what you are doing here and "why"? May consider this as the "Cherry on the preverbal stereo fix cake" :-)
Thanks,
Joe

i have the upgraded meridian 700+w system in my brand new 2017 f-type r convertible, and was wondering if I'd get much of an upgrade doing any of this. the current system sounds pretty good. comparable to my Burmester in my 2016 911 turbo s cab. reading over most of these posts, people have had the base meridian system, which is far different than mine, or so i have been told. I'm new to the meridian sound systems.

Oh boy.....I actually bought them from the parts department. A gentleman from Australia is very knowledgeable on this and sent me charts etc. etc. It worked out well, and to put the speakers in the doors, have to take the old out that are partially hot glued into the harness, and then my guy spot glued the entire new speaker and re-inforced it into the harness for me. Came out awesome. please verify this for your car....., and you can purchase these from parts new.
The general consensus is that the B&W speakers are far superior to the Meridians in construction, and sound quality.
The door bass speakers in the F-Type are C2D23735
The door midrange speakers in the F-Type are C2Z22816
I will ask my guy tomorrow which speakers he put in the doors. They aren't a direct drop in though....originals need to be removed and the new ones put in and reinforced with hot glue and ties....But damn they sound frigging awesome!
Let me see what he says tomorrow or Monday for me and I will pass it on. CAM from Australia was a "Godsend" for me. A real gem of understanding, and patience on this topic!!!
Stay tuned.

There's a few options for better speakers out of the JLR parts bin than what came in the F-Type from the factory.
Actually the door speakers in the F-Type with the Meridian system are the same as the lower-spec factory system in the XJ.
100mm midrange speakers in the F-Type are plain paper/rubber cone, there's a few different Kevlar cone ones to choose from, from the XJ or Range Rovers. Are a straight swap. The black Kevlar ones are the cheapest, but you can also get yellow from the B&W system or pink/red from the Meridian Signature, as far as I can tell the Kevlar ones are all the same apart from the colour.
200mm bass speakers, the choices would be straight swap ones out of the Range Rover or XJ with the Meridian Signature system, no re-work required just drop them in, or what Joe's guy did was fit the 165mm B&W speakers from the XF into the 200mm frames of the F-Type speakers.
For the tweeters there is a Titanium-dome version used in the Meridian Signature system of the XJ & Range Rover, that are a straight swap for the Aluminium-dome ones used in the F-Type. The Aluminium ones are the same for just about all post-2012 JLR vehicle, only special version is the Titanium, they are a bit expensive though...
The centre speaker in the dash is a coaxial, tweeter plus midrange. The standard F-Type one is an Aluminium-dome tweeter on a 100mm paper/rubber cone. There's a few options to choose from here as replacements, but they will need a small section of plastic trimmed out to fit because the capacitors and chokes are in slightly different positions on the F-Type. Not a big deal to trim them away. You have choices of Kevlar cone with Aluminium tweeter (from the B&W system in the XJ) or Kevlar cone with Titanium tweeter (from the Meridian Signature in the XJ)
I'm just about to order a set of Meridian Signature 200mm and 100mm speakers for an F-Type owner here in Sydney, although his car has the Base system (for now) not a Meridian. And his being a 2017 model it's going to need a custom solution for the amp/sub, it's not possible to retrofit the factory Meridian Surround to this car without changing everything.

Cambo, can you provide the part numbers for the Kevlar B&W's that direct swap to the ftype? I checked a dealers oem parts and used 2012 XJ supersport as a model, but it's not providing any specifics. Speaker prices seem to be in the $100-200 range usd, but not sure I even am looking at the correct ones.

The Titanium dome tweeters are p/n C2D30486 or LR033292
The 100mm "B&W" yellow Kevlar midrange speakers are p/n C2D2076
The 100mm "Meridian Signature" black Kevlar midrange speakers are p/n LR033293
Can see here the black ones compared to a standard surround speaker with paper/rubber cone.

The 165mm "B&W" yellow Kevlar bass speakers that Joe used are C2Z3438 but you need to cut up the existing 200mm frames to fit 165mm speakers in them.

You can see here some "200mm" speakers from the XJ, F-Type and Range Rovers with the low-spec Base audio, they are done the same way.

If you want to spend more money there are aftermarket 200mm speakers which were originally designed for replacing the 200mm OEM subwoofer in some BMW models, they are the same physical size and design. From Rockford Fosgate, Focal or Eton, but they are hell expensive...
![F-Type Stereo System Upgrade Planning-csm_b195neo_1fe0c57960.jpg](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/attachments/f-type-x152-72/210925d1520026017t-f-type-stereo-system-upgrade-planning-csm_b195neo_1fe0c57960.jpg)
And some minor modifications will be needed for accommodating the BMW type connector on them (it's angled up instead of flat, and the connector is slightly different).
EDIT
And just to be clear, these factory "B&W" or "Meridian" speakers are all made by PSS in China, there is no branding on them of "B&W" or "Meridian".
In the old days when JLR was using Alpine and Harman Kardon, the speakers were branded as such, but not anymore, there's no brand on them except PSS and Jaguar Land Rover.

One other thing I forgot to mention.
The front door 200mm bass speakers from the XJ 2010-2012 "B&W" system are also a straight swap into the F-Type.
I can't tell you which ones are better; the "B&W" or "Meridian Signature" from the since they look to be more or less the same, different part numbers though, but they are definitely not the same as standard 200mm ones in the F-Type Meridian system.

And lastly, this is a comparison between the Meridian Signature, and the "base" system speaker from the F-Type, XJ and Range Rovers

Cam.....u da man! Between my tech originally adjusting the amp software, and the speaker swap out I am thoroughly happy with my sound system. Cost me $500.00 but well worth it. I am actually having the center speaker done and the small peace of plastic is a peanuts retrofit.....harming nothing as you say.
Folks, Cams research and contribution warrants a ‘Grammy’ in and of its own right!

@slojotta; couldn't agree more on cambo's contributions! Also, haven't forgotten yours on the whole stereo fix. I am considering the speaker swap as it seems fairly inexpensive. Which ones (and new models) specifically did you swap and who did the swap for you? What did the labor cost? Thanks.
