Default F-Type Strut Repair

I am told both of the front struts on my 2014 F-type need to be replaced (24K mi car!). I have never heard of struts going bad this fast on a car. I do not hot rod around in the vehicle. I am told the only option is getting OEM struts from Jag. Any suggestions for me? I live in Los Angeles.

Do you have the adjustable damping? If not, I think that Bilstein has a replacement. I remember looking it up and at the time, it was just the standard B4 unit. If you do have the adjsutable damping, you'll either need to get OEM or get some devices to fool the system into thinking that the adjustment mechanism (a solenoid) is still in place.

WHY were you advised to replace?

That is the $64 question, isn't it? If my dampers are worn out, I know it first. I'd only expect to hear it while the car is being serviced if there is evidence of leakage.

This is the first instance where I read about struts needing replacement. Consider getting a second opinion.

Are you sure it's not the strut boots and not the struts themselves? Or maybe the adjustment motors? OEM struts should last way longer than 24k miles, and if they were failing the usually fail slowly and just get floaty. Unless you blew them hitting a giant speed bump at speed, it seems odd they would fail so early.
