Tough call on your end. I personally would be hesitant unless the deal was just too good to pass up. What is the current mileage and was it driven daily during your recent northern winter? I'm not a firm believer in following the manufacturer's break in periods to the letter but it's probably a safe bet that this vehicle was driven aggressively on numerous occasions right out of the gate. Doubtful the car would ever break down because it's designed to handle "spirited" road tests and you have the remainder of the warranty for any potential issues. Check out the tire wear prior to making any decision, if they are well worn it will be an expensive purchase ($1600) for you in the near future but you may be able convince the dealer to replace them as part of the deal. Good luck!

The tire wear is about 8/32 on the rear, 9/32 on the front. The mileage is 3000 and it looks to have been out for the early winter (November) but has been for sale at this dealer since December 15th. What do you think would be a deal too good to pass up? The MSRP is $143,245 they’re asking for $119,945. If I could get them to get it down to $95,000 would that qualify as a deal too good to pass up?
thanks for the input.

Personally I think if you could get them down to $105K it would be a great deal. Not sure if you're locked into a particular color combination but there is a gorgeous 2019 white SVR convertible with the rare tan interior for sale outside of Boston. It's a one owner vehicle with only 1400 miles in spotless condition for only $96K that you might want to check out on Cars.com. Upside is that it was not a press car and it may be in your price range, downside is that you might not be able to lease it. Don't think you'll get them to drop the price down to $95K on the SVR you're currently interested in.

If this is going to be a lease, who cares how badly it was flogged? It’ll still be under warranty for the entire period of the lease. With only 3000 miles on it, the tires and brakes probably still have a few thousand miles left on them, but factor that wear into what you are willing to pay. Get the price down a bit and you may have a good deal for yourself.

Hey All, I just had another question. It turns out this SVR is famous! it was a press car and appeared in many articles. Heres the forbes article written about it:

Does anyone have any stories about press cars, e.g. that they are driven extra hard and are likely to break down? Should I stay away from this car? The more I learn about it the more I'm thinking this lease could end poorly for me.
Any advice anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!

I'm sure the drivers put that car through some spirited driving. Not that there's anything wrong with it since I feel like the car was meant to be driven hard. However, if you're concerned about unknown mechanical issues and want a pristine car, then keep shopping.

So my wife and I went for a walk today and decided to go visit the nursery near our house. They were open to limited customers, and it was a beautiful day to be outside. When we left the nursery, the first thing I see in the parking lot is a really nice SVR! What the heck? I thought I was the only F Type in my 'burb!!! Took a pic anyway.

New SVR owner
Hello everyone,
I am a new F-Type SVR 2019 owner. Prior vehicle was a F-Pace SVR so familiar with the brand/product.
My SVR seems quiet unless I’m pushing the throttle down hard, anyone else experience this? Also the only time I can control the pops and crackles is in 1st gear when I rev up to 3000rpm and let go. Other than that it’s random and does it when it wants to but nothing like what you see on the YouTube videos. Any solutions advice how to get it back would be greatly appreciated.

SVR steering wheel thicker than base?
Hi.
Anyone know if the SVR steering wheel is thicker than the start round bottom? I'm tempted by this to replace mine but it's the thinness of the standard wheel I'm not keen on so could do with knowing if this is thicker, I've not been able to found out.
Thanks a lot for any insight.

Of course it could just be an optical illusion caused by the 10 to 2 thumb grips!

you have to know how to make her sing, just takes a little more finesse with the gas pedal and shifters.
