Hi guys,
I just came across this video and it brought a big smile on my face (picking up my 18 SVR on the 30th!).
Now I’ve a question, about 8:50 into the video they show a way to have continued pops and bangs from the exhaust - my question, are there any downsides doing this?
- does it hurt the engine, the exhaust, or does it just eats away fuel? 😅
I look forward to hear your insights, and if you didn’t know about it (and it isn’t harmful) you’re welcome 😜
Though I'm not in your elite group - only owning a lowly F-Type R, I thought I'd toss you guys a cookie. I had stopped in at the Jag dealer in San Diego for some parts and saw this on the way in. What you see is it, no price but appears to be a 2017, but if someone here is hard up for an SVR, keep your eyes on their website, as I'm sure it'll pop up eventually. Did one of you trade in one in San Diego?
I have the only 2018 white SVR with red interior in the USA. II am in central NY. I know where the only 2017 is in that color combo (Maine), so there is only a 2019 and a 2020 somewhere. Info per F type Registery..
Correction, that color combo with carbon ceramic brakes.
Has anyone with an SVR upsized their tires? I was thinking of upping fronts from 265/35/20 to 275/35/20, and the rears from 305/30/20 to 315/30/20, keeping the profile percentages the same, which would result in slightly more rubber to fill the wheel well. Just wondering about any ill effects or potential problems.
I'm a month in to owning my 2017 SVR. One thing I noticed when looking around the car after purchasing it was the accumulation of small gravel and other road debris that seemed to collect in bottom of the SVR front fenders - to the point where it pushes the fender out a little. I'd like to remove the outer panels an clean this up. I can see at the top there are just a couple of bolts but I don't know how they're fastened at the bottom. Does anyone know how to remove them?
Good morning, about a month ago I picked up a 2020 SVR convertible white with a red interior. For the little bit I've driven it, what a great car!!! I had to put it in the dealer shop to have a little molding repaired under warranty and when they went to put it on the lift they cracked the body panel just in front of the driver side rear wheel well. They of course are repairing it free of charge but it's pretty annoying. Can't wait to get it back.
You have to go through the front wheel well. Remove the bolt and pull the inner wheel well out of the way. Look down into the area down the fender and there will be two (2) 10mm bolts/nuts that need to be loosened up or taken out, your choice. Once done, you can gently pull the lower part of the fender out and the rocks will drop out. If you want to take a second to clean and polish this area, now would be the time to loosen the 2 upper bolts and remove the panel. Once you are done, just put the panel back in place and tighten the nuts back up. Remember to push the fender back in while you do this or it will stick out too far and trap bigger rocks. It will also rattle when you go down the road. (Ask me how I know!!)
BE CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK THE BOLT IN THE WHEEL WELL!! It is very easy to snap off and a pain to repair. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Thanks BigJay, really appreciate the advice. This might seem a little off the wall but I was wandering if the area between the fender panels had some kind of protective coating when the cars were shipped from Jaguar. Let's put it this way, the drivers side on mine most certainly has "something" stuck to the inside fender when I look down into it from the top with the two bolts removed. I'll grab photos when I take the outer fenders off.
Edit: forgot I had taken this photo (driver's side)...
It's not crazy clear but the black plastic at the bottom left is the wheel well liner with the vents. The green material looks tucked under that and is stuck to the panel all the way down. it's obviously coming loose on the "exit" through the back of the opening.

This is SVR convertible with carbon package and brown top. Received it last October, drove it through the winter using SottoZero snow tire on standard F type wheels.
SVR with snow tires. A second set of generic F type rims was ordered with the care - shown here - to allow winter tire fit.
That's unfortunate. I've been on the lookout for firesand, ultra blue and BRG convertibles in the US. Not sure how I didn't see it for sale since I have alerts on Cargurus and Autotrader.
