Default F-Type SVR Hood Heat Shield info

Hello all,

I know a lot of people have been asking and looking for the small heat shield that clips under the hood and is recommended using once the engine cover is removed. Below are the part numbers and photo.

Heat shield: T2R23413
Clips-x4 needed: T2R16422

Total out the door was $150 USC

Looks great and well worth it in my opinion.

Are the hoods on the V8 S the same cutouts underneath for this to fit onto as your R? The only pic difference I have found is the actual vent openings themselves.

I believe they are the same, worst case you return it but I’m pretty sure it’ll work.

Huge thanks. I didn't have any idea this existed, either.

So, dealer wasn't much help here to confirmn fitment. Houston dealerships are the worst, but save for another time. I special ordered regardless and "restocking fee", yada yada - wrong fitment for V8S stamped hoods - I can assume it only fits R or SVR hoods with vents up front, not the spear vented hoods. Up for sale complete including shipping in Marketplace now. So disappointed, I was looking forward to a unique piece for my Jag.

Does the Project 7 come with an engine cover? If not, it may have a bonnet insert that would fit all the RWD cars.

Has anyone who removed the engine cover suffered any consequence without a heat shield?

We haven't, despite a couple 3 hour tours. (Cue the Gilligan's Island theme song. )

Thanks to Taylorguy74 I just installed the heat shield.
Probably belt and suspenders but hey, it can’t hurt and it’s a factory piece.

Nope...Just the little tiny plastic thingy Does not have the large cover (I suppose someone could order one with it...But it is not stock with an engine cover).

Also running with no cover since I have had it...Running lots of HP too and a couple 1/2 Mile race days...No issues either. (Just another data point)

I guess I am a bit confused on the point of the shield. I removed my engine cover as well from the recommendations of others on this forum. I did read about how there is a potential issue with water getting in and saturating the deadening material for the supercharger. Is this for that reason? Because it appears from this shield it now blocking the air vents in the hood? Or is this to somehow prevent excess heat against the hood which could cause damage? I guess trying to fully understand its function. I live in AZ and other than when I wash my car, it doesn't get wet and clearly extremely dry here.

hi

I was thinking the same thing. Haven't removed the cover yet. Waiting for the shield. I figure if svr was done this way you could not go wrong. I am not sure if svr has exact vent placement as R? P.s i am in Arizona too east valley . Where abouts are you?
