F-Type SVR No Longer for 2021...

Okay, all good things come to an end at some point. The F-Type SVR came in 2017 and now it's soon to be gone after 2020. From what I have found researching and talking to dealers, the 2020 MY will be the last year for the F-Type SVR.

The truth is that in 2018 when I purchased mine, there were only 349 SVR's built that year worldwide. Only 47 of those SVR's made it to the U.S. market. So, that pretty much says it all - that SVR's haven't been produced in sufficient numbers to keep the brand going. Instead it seems like JLR is putting it's money on amping up the F-Type "R" with similar (but not exact) specs as the SVR. I'm glad that I purchased mine when I did and now that it's being discontinued even more so. My speculation is that JLR may be culling the herd in anticipation of tooling up and producing a new electric F-Type in a few years. However, knowing JLR as I do, all of that could change in a year or two...

The 2020 build R has the svr engine tune and chassis now, all of it, right down to the bespoke rear knuckles and bushings....and that’s all that needs to be taken from the svr
the plastic panels over the side fender looked like an after thought, and won’t work with the new design anyway

As I see now the first V8 P450 appear here in Europe, I think that all this is an operation to increase the prices. The V8
450PS cost now about 10000 Euro more as the V6 not delivred in Europe anymore. And I bet, that the V8 R will have not
the name from SVR but the same higher prices. So seems to be a pure commercial move on the slit eye facelift.

Concerning Co2 emission, the former MY V6 P340 had Co2 223gr/km, the new low power V8 has Co2 252gr/km. So climate is no argument and in this aspect it was more understandable that they turned everything on the V6 instead on the V8. But as the V8 P575 is not yet here all speculations stay open.

Interesting, the P450 has the same power and specifications as the Ford Mustang motor. I am asking me, perhaps they just
buy this motors from Ford without having an own production line inside the plant as till now and before ?
Concerning the new R P575 the prices in the engine configurator are lying about 27000 Euro higher as the P450 engine, so we
are minimum on the MY20 SVR prices.
I payed for my MY20 R stock car 103000 Euro, and remade the jaguar configurator for the same car with the same options but the
new P575 motor and you can see the result, I arrive about 40000 Euro higher on catalog price with the MY21. Sure this is not the final
dealer price, but 40000 is a hudge difference.

Peter O. - It took me over a year and multiple attempts to get the build information. Your best bet is not to go to the "JLR Customer Care" as they were absolutely worthless. Your best bet is to try and contact the SVR folks directly in the U.K.

As with my 2 previous Corvettes convertibles, stepping up from base model from 450 hp to Z06's 650 hp, an increase of 200 hp makes sense for approx $15K premium. Going all the way up to ZR1 for an extra 100 hp to 750 hp for $20K - $30K premium doesn't make sense to me.
Same goes for my decision of my R convertible, 550 hp is good enough, the extra $20K for SVR for extra 25 hp didn't make sense, for me....

literally that’s all they needed to do, put a 2.3 Or 2.6. I know giving it a diet would have been great but it’s very expensive to shed weight and Much cheaper to add a bigger blower. Unfortunately the SVR and newer R at 575 is not quite up to par with what is out now but still very fast.
